Figure Weight Loss of ********* ******** has initiated "virtual" appointments for out-of-state clients for weight loss. I setup an appointment with them on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 8:15 am. They ask that I pay $99 for the appointment, have a blood pressure machine available and purchase a $129 scale that could connect with them. I did all of that and had the appointment with weight in and successful appointment to which they indicated a prescription would be sent to the pharmacy I indicated. When the pharmacy had no prescription on Sunday available, I sent a text and then followed up with a phone call on Monday morning. I was then directed to the "virtual team" and told to text them (which I had already done) but they advised to text them again. Three hours later, I received an email from their Director of Operations, Tiffany L*******, that my "appointment" had been cancelled and the message went on to say "due to the **** pharmacy laws around phentermine that I could not get the prescription." I called Tiffany and told her the appointment was cancelled and she repeated about the **** laws. Figure Weight Loss knew I was from ****. I had been down to their site previously in ********. She said they could refund me $50 & then be eligible for the medication in December & I declined indicating I wanted a full refund. Why would a business set something like this up and not be aware of the laws? Are they then flipping the switch on other patients when they offer to only refund $50 apply the remaining $ to your "next appointment" whether onsite in ******** or virtually? They have been in business long enough to know the laws. This is sounding more like a scam and something that is not achievable in a virtual manner and yet they are "selling" this idea that it can happen. Please look into their "new, virtual" venture as I believe others may not question this & allow them to "hang" onto their money while the patients believe they are getting a prescription.
