      I received a call on 1/26/2024 from the company when I filled out a survey re: wanting to find burial/cremation insurance so my family wouldn't be burdened. This company called me and I was pleased with the rep and what he had to offer so I signed up for a policy costing $39.35/month for $7000 towards end of life insurance. I was told the 1st payment would be on 2/1/2024. That weekend I had an emergency that cost me more than I could afford so I called 1/29/2024 to cancel the policy and 1st payment. I spoke to several people at different phone numbers and never resolved the issue. I couldn't afford a stop payment fee which was almost as much as the premium. I continued calling daily and was finally told I would be reimbursed by 2/15/2024 since the 1st payment could not be stopped. I was told the policy was cancelled as I requested. I received a text on 2/12 from Brooklyn with Raymond Hightower's office with Seniorcare USA and American Home Life. She stated the message was for Jenne Samuel and I needed to call 1-800- to verbally cancel the policy. I called and was told my policy was already cancelled. On 2/16/2024, I received the paper policy with a cover letter dated 01/31/2024. I looked through the paperwork where it said I had the right to cancel if I returned the policy within 30 days after its delivery by taking it or mailing it to the company or to the agent through whom it was purchased. Immediately upon delivery or mailing, the policy would be deemed void from the beginning and any premium paid would be returned. I attempted to call that same day but the office was closed early on Fridays. Why should I have to pay postage to send the policy back for refund? I'm sure not driving to Brownwood, TX either. The number to call was the same number that Brooklyn texted me about. They had ample time to take care of this. It is obvious there is poor communication. I had hoped to get back with them when my financial situation improved but not now. Ridiculous.

      My mother passed away and I was trying to get information on the policy she had taken out. I knew nothing about the policy and was trying to explain to them the position I was in. I sent the proper information to them, and they never returned my call as I was told I would with in 24 hours. I had to call after a week. And got someone that obviously didn't want to do their job that day. Then had to call back several times till I could get someone. I was talk to very unprofessionally. I was being talked over while trying to ask questions. They refused to send the paperwork via certified mail, unless I paid for it. They were so rude and unprofessional I ended the conversation. It is bad enough that I lost my mom, but having to deal with that is just another slap in the face.

      THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. IT TOOK THEM ALMOST A YEAR TO PAY OUT AND I HAD SO MANY ISSUES. THEY WERE NOT GOOD AS OF REACHING OUT AND UPDATING ME ON MY POLICY PAY OUT. EVERY AGENT I SPOKE WAS NOT INFORMED WITH MY POLICY. THEY NEVER COULD GIVE ME INFORMATION AND ALWAYS GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. SOME AGENTS WERE NOT PLEASANT. BEFORE MY FATHER DIED I ASKED THEM OVER AND OVER DID MY POLICY TAKE EFFECT RIGHT AWAY AND I WAS TOLD YES. THEN ONCE MY FATHER DIED THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE POLICY DIDNT TAKE EFFECT FOR 2 YEARS. I WOULD HAVE NEVER BROUGHT THIS POLICY IF I KNEW THAT. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

      We are sorry for your experience with your father's death and our Company. Unfortunately, your father died with two years after purchasing his policy, making the policy "contestable". This means the Company had the right to investigate the accuracy of your father's representations of his medical conditions made on his application. To do this, we must obtain your father's medical records which can take a long period of time depending on the cooperation of the health care providers who treated your father and who possesses his records. If material misrepresentations are found the premiums paid plus interest are returned. If no misrepresentations are found, the policy death benefit plus interest is paid to the beneficiary. Thus, the policy was in effect immediately after purchase but, by law and the terms of the policy, was contestable for two years after purchase for material misrepresentations in the application. This was to your father at the time of purchase.
