    The company Jericho Home Improvement company sent a salesman, ****, to my home to discuss my kitchen. The first time he came by we did not sign any contract because of the high cost for kitchen cabinets. We thought about it and asked how much it would cost for an apron sink and countertop and after we signed the contract **** stated that he would let us know when we could go to the warehouse and look at the granite countertop. When I go there all the granite offered was NOT what I had in mind. The only thing that would work was quartz because it didn't have the glossy finish. Then he provided a small, book by ****** for my sink. I had in mind when I talked to him an apron sink made of ceramic or cast-iron. The problem I have with the company is WHY can't the customer go to the warehouse and see the selection before getting the loan?? . People like me who have NEVER had to re-do a kitchen upgrade can find the process daunting. This is not a business that I want to continue with and it absolutely ridiculous since after signing the contract and being able to schedule the date to look at the product put me in what they call " Too late to cancel" because its past their 3-day rule! If they would have made it the next day or BEFORE signing the contract this would have never happened. The office manager **** now wants 25% of the 16, 780.00. I don't know why they can't refund it because we never went to the next step, which would have been to send their contactor out to do the final measurements. No work was done! NONE. they didn't cut any of the slabs.

    Do not use Jericho. They are, in our words, expensive but cheap. They were obnoxiously high on their quote but convinced us to use them because: 1 they would give us 20% discount if we initiated the process that day 2. They gave alot of money to charity (didn't mention which) 3. Said they are a "one-stop shop" and we wouldn't have to find individual plumbers, electricians, trim *********, tile, shower, floor, etc 4. They would "prove it" they are great by working on 1 of our 3 bathrooms and finishing it and if we didn't love it, they would tear up the other 2 contracts and we would only have to deal with them on the 1 bathroom.We gave them money in November 2020. They said they could start in January 2021. That morphed into Feb 2021. Then March 2021. Then mid-April. But they didn't have all the inventory and started anyway. The 2 guys who did the work were great. One was a trainee but was meticulous. I felt comfortable it would be a good experience. Before they completed the 1st bathroom, they realized they didn't have everything they needed to finish. Inventory shortages due to, of course, COVID. So rather than finish the bathroom, they were told to demo (tear up) the other 2 bathrooms and start on those. Since they were scheduled for another gig much later, they would have had serious down time. Rather than do what they promised, they tore into the other bathrooms.......all without checking w/ us first. So, we were, in a sense, pot commtted to sticking with them to the bitter end. Along the way the 1st trainee was sent to another job and the 2nd trainee was brought in. Not as competent as the first. They apparently had goofy policies in place not to do much in the way of helping out the homeowner. For example, when they took down an old bath towel holder, they were told not to spackle over the old holes or patch up the unsighly mess. Why? They did not communicate that well. Some days they would say they would be there at 7:30 and they wouldn't show. Mgmt sent them to other places. Or they had company meetings. Some days they would show up after not being there for days at a time and no notice. Had to scramble to get home then.The painters repainted the cabinet doors but they didn't return the doors and didn't communicate they took them to shop to do the work. Then upon bringing them back they mismeasured on a couple of them and had to redo the process over. Once the floor was put in, it was not "taught". It was explained that it was due to condensation and settling. The floor had been in less than a couple days and the shower was never used because it was not finished. Not sure why they had to make up that line of b.s instead of admitting they could have done better. Which they eventually did. But not after making us feel like we were asking alot of them by doing it right. Again, not the workers. The project manager.Once the doors came back, they didn't have handles. It was told to us we didn't buy them. Not sure why they wouldn't point that out......"oh, by the way, it seems we are repainting your doors and taking off the old handles/knob but not leaving you with a way to get into your stuff". Then, since the old k*** just had one drill hole, they would have to charge us extra by drilling a hole into the doors to install the new handle. Once we picked our jaws off the ground, we just wanted them out.The shower was very "cookie cutterish". No pop or pizzazz or wow to it. We said we'd like a bit of our granite from the sink to be put into the carved out spot for the shampoo. They said they couldn't do that. THen they said they would charge us a few hundred extra since they had to cut it. There was extra from the slab we bought. But we said forget it and went to ********** and bought some tile to have them put on. Seemed like when we were spending tens of thousands of dollars already they would have attempted to make us happy. Especially after they said the shower would keep its "footprint" but they took out the bench and it would have actually shrunk. (When you have your arms out when shampooing they could hit the walls because you were standing closer to the walls/doors with no bench there to give you more room for your arms to be out extended. Fortunately, that was caught before they finished.About this time we are into July/August from their start date of April 14. They had gaps of weeks where they didn't work. They also brought in the 3rd trainee. This guy was a bust. He tried to glue a 3 inch piece of baseboard together and had excess glue all over it and actually put it on the wall. Fortunately the one worker who had been there since the beginning noticed it and said what are you thinking? It was a mystery......then he was told to take a bag of garbage (not heavy, mainly stryofoam) back to the warehouse dumpster. He had an old pickup. He walked out of the garage without the bag and said he was going to back his pickup into the drivewqy (from mailbox, a walk of maybe 10 yards). He proceeded to do that with the main guy watching bewildered. The pickup had the tailgate down and didn't have any camera or backup monitor. He then rammed the tailgate into the garage door. They said they'd fix it......which they did by flipping the board over instead of replacing it. Please, just be finsihed is all I kept asking. They had problems w/ the soft close hinges on the cabinets, the shower guys had to order a piece for the shower but delayed to, of course, COVID. At the end of August the project mgr came and replaced the shower heads because they were too large and dripped for minutes after shower was off and there was no pressure from them. He indicated he wanted to be paid for the job. But it's not finished. The shower guy still has to install his piece. And we have to test out the new shower head. He was shocked. We were holding "hostage" alot of money and it was just a little bit of work and, in any case, that is the shower guy and not "them" and why can't he have his money? Again, when the job is complete and we are ok with it. He was incredulous. This has been going on since April. Why can't we pay? He was 100% serious. What is the reason it has dragged on? We have been there except for one week in July when no worker was there anyway. He said it is in the contract they will come back and work on it and he'll write something in as well. I explained we can't get you guys to the house to finish when we owe you a chunk of change, why would I remove that leverage.It's the only way I can guarantee seeing someone from Jericho again. I explained we had moved/built other houses and when the builder gets his money, the "punch list" he says he'll work on for the most part vanishes into thin air. I also talked to a neighbor who said he had a small bathroom repair/remodel done by Jericho and he still owed $5000 to them and it dragged on for OVER A YEAR, I used the neighbor's name and he indicated he knew about that and there were circumstances for that.........yes, probably none of it the fault of Jericho and I didn't want to be in that situation in 12 months waiting for someone from Jericho to come to our house. Finally, after Labor Day, 2021, we wrote a check to close it out. There were probably some other things that I left out (like the project mgr boss calling to find out what needed to be tackled and he promised he would make it happen but nothing happened after his phone call) but the jist is the workers (for the most part) are great and if you get the correct ones they do solid work. But some less than A students and the salesman and project manager leave alot to be desired. No one has followed up and the salesman never checked in to ask about our experience or the "prove it" philosophy. So, save some money and give to your charity of your choice and find other remodelers out there. We'll fortunately never have to use Jericho again. I would encourage anyone reading this to avoid them as well.
