After my husband and I described to ************************* at Mike Anderson Chevrolet service center of what our 2014 GMC TERRAIN truck was burning a lot of oil and smoking, they took our truck gave us a loaner car and said that they will give us a call and let us know what is the problem was. We received a call from the service manager ************************* and he told us that we needed Pistons and timing chain and we asked ************************* how much that will cost and he told us that will cost us $5,200 and that we needed to put down $2000 and then pay the remaining balance of $3000 which we paid in cash when we pick up it up. They had our TERRAIN truck for 9 days. 14 days after getting our truck back we had to return our truck because the problem was not fixed we was still experiencing the same problems. We was told to just keep driving it to burn off the excessive oil that our truck consumed and that it will be fine. 30 days later our truck had NO oil in it at all so we took it back for the 3rd time was the 5 hours. ************************* said not to worry about it and that if he has to take it apart again and start over he will do that and we don't have to pay for anything. He did not do that he told us to drive and to bring it in every 500 mile for 4 times to check but he knew the the warranty will expire on the Pistons and timing chain. Then he told us that we need a new engine and it will be another $5000 and he admitted that there are problems with the engines in Equinoxs and Terrains but yet he had us pay $5,200 for something else. Two days later we requested to talk to ************************* and we explained our problem and we was lied to and we feel that they should fix our truck for free with a new engine. ******* told us that he will see what he can do and get back with us that Friday but he did not contact us back so we reached back out to him and he will not answer our calls nor contact us back. We want our truck fixed with a new engine for free or we will file a lawsuit.

      Good afternoon,

Thank you for reaching out.  Upon review of your account, you had brought in a diagnosis and an estimate of the replacement of pistons and timing chains from another service facility and requested a quote from us for those specific items.  We gave you a quote as requested  and you accepted and asked us to perform that work.  Our Service director will reach out to you to assist in any further repairs.

      We appreciate your business.

      Thank you,

      *******************************

I am rejecting this response because:

No we do not agree with the business response because they told us that we needed Pistons and timing chain to fix the problem that we described to them and  which we paid $5200 for and now they are saying it's not the pistons and timing chain we just need a engine. Now they want us to pay more money  for a engine after they said pistons and timing chain was the problem. We feel that they should have told us in the beginning that we needed a engine to give us a opportunity to look for a new engine for a cheaper price elsewhere what they are charging. Chevrolet dealership did not fix our problem as promised. We feel that Chevrolet service center was guessing what the problem was with our truck.  They need to fix our truck with a new engine for free.

Mr and Mrs ************ would settle to pay half of the $1182 that was discussed with ************************* from **** Anderson dealership to settle the payment.

      Mr and ****************,

Thank you for reaching out, this matter has already been resolved.  The repairs that were previously made, were made at your request.  *************************, our service director, has reached an agreement in regards to the engine and ************** has approved assistance towards your engine repair.  You were advised that you would only be responsible for the $1182.00 as suggested in your resolution to the BBB.  Please reach out to us directly to get scheduled for repairs.

      Thank you,

Purchased a new vehicle in November ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Which turned out to be false. Not only that, I was told my credit had only been ran twice when in fact it had been run 5 times. During my time in finance, I did not have my charges broken down for me. I noted discrepancies with my name spelling and mileage of the vehicle I was trading in. I was told this was fine until receiving a call days later that I need to come in and fix some of the paperwork. That originally did not include changing the name being inaccurate on my title and that I could easily fix this with the **** I had to call and argue to fix this after finding if I resolved this matter on my own it would cost me additional fees with the **** I spoke with the dealership several times regarding this matter and was promised a call from a manager which I never received. I was also told that the owner would be talked with to refund the charge for an aftermarket package I never wanted, was told was free, and never had performed. That did not happen as well.

Falsified my original purchase agreement with a different creditor on my agreement. Made payments to another finance company not listed on the purchase agreement as told to by **** Anderson who sent the agreement to this other company, ***. Changed the color of the vehicle on paper and submitted that to the bmv so yearly the registration was the incorrect color until this year 2023. Accepted a trade in for a vehicle with title in hand and gave me a vehicle with recalls and malfunctions so bad that the vehicle is deemed a total loss, internationally. The airbags and electrical system per vin and make n model have been recalled internationally, therefor the carfax doesnt show, but the original purchase papers show they acknowledged the recall. Refused to replace the vehicle or fix it bc they are not authorized. Theft on social and identity and insurance fraud. All paperwork in hand. Tried to resolve the issue ended up filing a report locally with law enforcement, due to the severity of the situation. Vehicle is registered to another person 3 hours away.

We are in receipt of the BBB complaint filed by **************** and it is a surprise to us as his purchase is from five years ago and we have no record of him raising any of the issues he complains about until now.  To the contrary, our notes show he was happy with his purchase.  We do not show that **************** has ever brought the vehicle to us for any service work.

The complaint alleges a few issues.  We will try to address each in kind.

Falsification of purchase agreement via different creditor than where **************** made payments.
All of our finance agreements are Retail Installment Sales Contracts that can be assigned at the discretion of the creditor.  It is not uncommon for a creditor listed on a purchase agreement to change.  We believe this is what could have happened in this case, which is not a falsification of an agreement.  It is simply a change which is allowed by the terms of the transaction.

Changed color of vehicle on paperwork submitted to ***.  If the color was incorrect, it would have been a scriveners error that could have been corrected at any time.  While we strive for perfection sometimes there are mistakes that need to be corrected.  It appears that **************** has corrected this with the *** such that there is nothing more to do.

Purchased vehicle had recalls and malfunctions.  As indicated above, we are unaware of any issues **************** may have experienced from the used vehicle he purchased from us five years ago.  The vehicle would have been sold as-is or with a warranty as provided by the *** Buyers Guide that was displayed in the vehicle prior to the transaction.  In any event, that was five years ago and no warranty that we may have provided would still be in effect.  Had **************** raised issues with us that were covered by a warranty, we would have honored the warranty.  As to recalls, those would be from the original equipment manufacturer not the dealership and should have or could have been effectuated at no cost to **************** by taking the vehicle to an OEM dealership.  If he purchased a GM vehicle, we would have performed any work subject to a recall at no cost to *****************  We presume that if there were recalls from five years ago they would have been satisfied by now.

Identify Theft.  We dispute any responsibility for identify theft.  The complaint indicates that a report was filed with law enforcement.  We would cooperate with law enforcement and do anything within reason to help clear up any identify theft.  Again, our management has no knowledge of this issue.

We strive to maintain great customer satisfaction.  To that end, if there is anything we can do within reason to help clear up issues from the transaction with **************** from five years ago, please let us know.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

      *****,

I apologize that you needed repairs to your vehicle.  We perform a multi-point inspection on all vehicles, but can never predict future repairs.
Upon review, you purchased your 2015 Jeep Wrangler on November 7th, 2022 for $24,441.00. Your title work was delivered to you, and as you may recall the bureau of motor vehicles advised they wanted additional paperwork to which we provided you.
You had advised us of concerns regarding needed repairs to your vehicle, which we performed at no cost and delivered a courtesy vehicle to your home to drive.    You had stated you needed to get the vehicle emission tested, so as a courtesy we had emissions tested, filled your vehicle with fuel, and delivered the vehicle to you at your home.  We have gone above and beyond to take care of all of your concerns.

We strive to provide all of our customer's a great experience, At this time we have addressed and resolved all concerns.

      Thank you,

4-28-2022 I paid a Down of $5,000 down payment. Loan after is $49,647.93 I was sold a certified used vehicle under the terms it was supposed to be 117-point inspection, the issues my vehicle exhibits were covered under these inspections. Either the 117point inspections were not done, or it was purposely overlooked because the repairs would require replacement of multiple computer modules that are currently on nationwide back order with no estimated restocking date. This would have caused them to lose thousands of dollars while the vehicle sat on the lot waiting for out-of-stock parts. Instead of doing the right thing and cutting their losses they passed their problem onto me. The vehicles service history shows it had been in for recalls before at another dealership for this exact issue. Obviously, this was a known issue, and they did not want to take the loss so they sold me a defective vehicle hoping I would not notice. The company claims they are fixing the issue which they have ordered one used computer part that did not fix the problem, this in itself is ridiculous and unacceptable on a new vehicle which is less than a 1-year-old to be receiving used parts. It is not my problem that the new part is on a nationwide backorder. The company has not offered me not one rental, loaner nothing. I am spending 100s of dollars on for a gas guzzling vehicle, which this vehicle I bought is supposed to be better on a gas, this is why I was upgrading to a smaller vehicle.

      *******************,

We perform inspections on all our vehicles, and at the time of purchase in April there were not any outstanding concerns with your vehicle.  The vehicle was brought to our service department in late September due to the remote start not operating correctly, and was found to have a broken module.  That part is on order, however there is a nationwide back order on these computer modules.  We are in contact with ************** and doing everything we can to expedite the part so that you can enjoy all of your vehicles options.  At this time there are no safety or other concerns brought to our attention.  We do not have loaner vehicles to provide, but could reach out to a rental company on your behalf if you would like us to.  To our knowledge your vehicle is operating as it should with the exception of the remote start feature, the gas mileage is not affected by this.  Our goal is to resolve this matter as quickly as possible and will work with manufacturing to get your part expedited.  We appreciate you and your understanding while every industry nationwide is experiencing manufacturing and shipping delays during the global pandemic.

I have a 2018 ***** Silverado with ****** miles on it and have not used the vehicle to a trailer. On August 30, 2022 at 5:00 pm, while driving, I received an alert chime stating "Service Trailer Brake System" . The alert was consistent and non stopping. I had to pull over to avoid being distracted while driving. After several minutes, I was able to dismiss the alert and proceed on my way. The next morning (August 31, 2022) I used the internet to research the issue and found that other GM truck owners are experiencing the same issue and the cause is a defective wiring harness. I contacted Mike Anderson Chevrolet on August 31, 2022 around 12:30 pm and spoke to a service rep who in turn advised me that the issue was water in the connectors. Which is not the truth according to the research I conducted.

Not happy about Mike Anderson Chevrolet. I went to trade my car for a different car because of domestic abuse I suffered so I would feel safe. I had a 2016 Chevrolet Impala with nothing wrong with it. They said the only car they could trade for the Impala was a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze with over ****** miles on it. The day after I traded my car the tire sensors came on after they put new tires on. The second day I drove the car the check engine light came on. I feel taken advantage of. They claim to be a family business but they don't treat their clients like family. They trade me a lemon and I am not happy with this business.

      To whom it may concern:

**************** purchased this vehicle Saturday, December 18th, 2021.  She called on Monday December 20th and advised the check engine light was on, I asked her if she could bring the vehicle to our service department and we would look at it immediately.  **************** did not live locally and told me she did not want this vehicle, at which time we told her we could take the vehicle back and return her Impala that she had traded in, and she agreed that would resolve her concern.  Please remove this complaint, as we did everything the customer asked, and resolved her concern immediately.
