I haven't refused to help *** ******  *** ***** signed the 8879 (attached) which states the he examined the return and authorized me to send it to the IRS on March 8, 2021 and was accepted by the IRS March 11, 2021. Once a return is accepted it cannot be transmitted again.  *** ***** stated he didn't receive his return, I looked on IRS website "where's my refund"  and showed it was deposited *attached), only then did *** ***** notice the account number was incorrect. *** ***** was given form 3911 twice to initiate a trace on the refund, which per the IRS is how a lost refund is to be handled. *see attached*  I also instructed *** ***** to contact his bank to see what could be done on their end and was told by *** ***** to my assistant ****** that the bank suggested we re-send the tax return and have the refund go into my bank account and then I write a check to him.  Yes, I did refuse to do this. First, the return cannot be resent once accepted and second, it is unethical for a tax preparer to have a client's refund money go into their account, this is not ever an option.

In 25 years of preparing taxes I have never I had a situation like this.  All the information shows *** ***** did receive his refund.
