On 1/31/2024 I received a call stating that I had a credit card from this company for $1000. I had asked when this was taken out and asked what kind of card this was. He could not give any explanation. Then he proceeded and said that nothing was files yet with our local court and it would now $5000. He proceeded to say that the court will laugh about this because of me having credit cards now and did not know why I couldn't pay this credit card on time. I again stated that I do not recall having a credit card from this company and said that if did I would have paid it. He was very rude not very professional. I wanted more information to try to figure this out but instead felt threaten because he wanted me to pay it out front or there will be a wage attachment of 25% to paycheck till the bill was payed. I tried asking specific information again but could not get any ware with tis person and the more I asked the more he was rude. Then he hung up on me. Not very professional

On August 4th 2023, I received a call from someone from firm company on behalf of Providian. Telling me there is a lawsuit against me for $6000 for an account I open back in ****. I asked several times to provide me with more information because I never received anything from this company and dont even remember having a credit card under this company name. She informed me its too late to provide that information because its too late and I have to appear in court and possibly pay $6000 plus court fees and this will go on my credit forever. If I dont pay they will put a lien on my assets. I asked again for her to send me something in writing and she stated its too late for that. I told her I do not recall having an account that old and why is it not showing on my credit report. They also claimed to have been sending me letters which I have never received. She stated because its being disputed so it wont show on my credit history. This lady was very rude and hung up on me twice. I called back to try to get more information. She stated I made payments from ****-2004 and thats it. And no other communication up until now. And I been living in my same address for 18 years. She had all my previous addresses and still I havent received anything from Providian. I dont know the end result other than reporting this company.

I am on do not call list but on 8/2/2023 I received a call from a courier service asking if I would be home to accept a summons the next day. I asked why. They said it was a legal summons with my name and address. They asked to verify my information. I said no I don't know who you are. They said they could give me the number of the law offices to check with them. I was give North Star Law Firm, she said out of ******** at the #***************** **************************. I was given a file# also. I called as was told ********** had taken over Providian accounts and was taking me to court over an account delinquent in about 2003/04 opened in ****. I needed to verify who I was so they would know who they were talking to. She indicated they had mailed me bills prior to inform me and now they were taking me to court. I said I recalled the bank but did not owe anything. She said they were allowed to take me to court and would be I hadn't called them earlier. I asked to speak to their attorney because the law she was reciting was not correct. I did not owe anything. According to her no one would be eligible for the statue of limitations consumer protection. After going back and forth I said I wanted to see this bill she said I'd been sent. She said I'd be emailed it. I did not receive an email. She told me I can make a payment arrangement or be sent a summons. I told her I needed to see it and discuss with my attorney and there wasn't much time to do so. She said if I didn't call back to make payments then I'd receive the summons requiring me to pay about $3,000.00. So I called my sister who had paralegal experience and she told me as I already thought that after 5 years in ******** they should not have contacted me and they were trying to get me to pay something that had statue of limitations expiration. That's when I checked my email and discovered they had not emailed me anything. I called back and said on legal advice I owed them nothing and never contact me again. I hung up.

I have received calls from someone at Providian National Bank stating I owe a large debt. They threatened to serve me with papers stating I was to appear in court. I do not recall ever having any credit with Providian Bank. When the caller insisted I did owe that money and did have an account I suggested it was not my debt. The debt was supposedly from more than ********************************************************************** until ********************************************************************** and was very rude, indicating I am a lowlife and probably never pay my debts, which is untrue. He then hung up on me. I have also received notification from other family members they a "Process Server" left a voicemail on their phones too. Each was addressed to my previously married name and the voicemail was the same exact pre-recorded message. It stated to call ************ and referenced case ***********. I have checked my credit reports from Equifax and Transunion, and this debt does not appear on either of them.

I started receiving calls from an ************ stating they represent Providian bank. He stated that I owed $4,000 since I opened the account in 2011. I was in *********** during that time and I have never had an account with the bank. Another number of ************ called my mom telling her to pay it or I'll get sued. Each time they call it's a different amount that I owe. Once again I have never had an account with **********************.
