My wife and I found a car on Zeigler ***** in Schaumburg. I submitted a form online. A rep called me back and we discussed interest rates and the car. I was told that I need to come by in order to check the rates. ******* asked me what time I can be there, I said around 5:30-6pm. She said she will get the car ready for me and will see me later. I got a call from her around 5:45 and let her know I am leaving the house and considering its rush hour its going to take me about 30 minutes to get there. I ended up going to Zeigler Doge, about 5 minutes from ***** location by accident. I called and spoke to ******* and told her im almost there. When we got there, at 6:15pm, the person sitting behind the customer service front desk didnt even say a word, he saw us, but said nothing. Finally someone came up and I let them know I need to speak with *******. She never came out. But I was told that a few minutes ago another person walked in, no online reservation as with me, and took the car for a test drive. We are in shock. But we wait. And wait. We waited for 25 minutes during which ******* called me again. I let her know what the situation was and she said just wait. Finally the other people came back. We took the car for a spin around the block. Took us 6 minutes. We came back and the other people purchased the car we reserved. We spent 2 hours on this whole trip. Left kids at home. And came back without a car. To say I am disappointed is understatement. I have never received such horrible customer service in all my years of buying cars. So today I called to speak with a sales manager. Left a message with the phone operator and was told someone will call me back. They did, but I was on a call. I called back about 15 minutes later, was put on hold, then disconnected. I have now called there 5 times and no one is picking up the phone. They dont even want to talk to me. Well, like most others here, I wish I had seen these ratings before blowing most of my day today in the lovely -6 degree weather. Called and talked to ***** about a vehicle on the website. She confirmed the price is EXACTLY what it was listed for plus tax, title, and admin fee. I specifically asked if there were ANY add ons or other fees involved. She, of course, said no. I, even told her if I showed up and there was a $500 "nitrogen" fill of my tires or a "$300 pinstripe", I would lose my mind. She assured me that would not be the case. Drove 1.5 hours and then the shenanigans began. "Sir that price listed is with all incentives applied and you only qualify for one". Baloney. The price listed on the website mentions NOTHING remotely indicating that. Then began the Lojack $2400 hard sell and of course a $2995 service contract of some kind. Then more made up ******** about how the car has a deposit from someone WITH the Lojack, and if I could MEET that price we might be able to get to a "mutually beneficial" agreement. Yeah, that sounds like a great way to do business! My wife and I then walked out and will never return. I have had some great experiences with some dealers in the area, and some pretty bad ones. I Had a coupon for an oil change for *****. My final bill was *****. I did not have anything else done. Yet, my father was able to get his oil change for his coupon amount and his tires rotated. He had a truck. I have an equinox. I believe that because I was a woman, that I was discriminated against. I have not heard back from the dealership.Review from marianne r

Zero stars. I've never felt so unwelcomed. I applied for a loan for people with challenging credit. According to my emails from ***, I was approved. When talking to ******** made it clear that I did not want to drive that far if I was going to be denied. He stated I was approved and that the banking rep was going to be there specifically with my approval. Well just as I suspected, I went in and was given the run around. The person *** was no where to be found, the bank rep was not a bank rep at all but just a finance person for the dealer, and I had no approval at all. I was sent home empty handed being told I would get a call when I was approved. I never received a call back. I had to call back a few days later only to be told they could not approve me at all. I didn't even get an option for a co-signer. They need to be more honest with their sales. My credit was run with the understanding that I was approved. I will never go or refer anyone to them again.Review from Alfonzo S

This dealership had the audacity to mandate an optional $4800 add-on and originally would not sell me the vehicle unless i paid for the optional package.They also told me that my interest rate was not solely contingent on my credit score, but it would only be lowered if I purchased an additional $3500 warranty package. This dealership had conflicting narratives and would tell me one thing up front, and as soon as it was time to start paperwork, they would tell me something completely different. There were many bait and switch tactics used to attempt to sell me a vehicle, and I spoke with another customer in the dealership who also experienced the same. Many of their alleged policies & promises are not in writing. Their finance team is not to be trusted. And neither is their social media/customer relations manager The day after i left, their social Media/Customer Relations Manager attempted to rectify the situation and asked if I would still be interested in the vehicle if they could offer me either a better deal on the car or a better interest rate. She calls back a few minutes later and attempts to sell me the car for over $4000 more than it was the day before. Since i refused to purchase the $4800 package, they increased the price of the vehicle overnight, attempted to sell it to me at a higher price, and then she tells me that it was a good deal. Bought a **** ***** Pilot . I am from ******** . Dealer ship charged me $ 916 .00 for Plate fee. I contacted the secretary of state and It was only 229 they paid . Its a clear evidence of fraud . Trying to get the money through Small Claim Court .Review from John L

There are a lot of hidden cost in the price of the car. The finance manager is there purely to rip people off. They try to force you into buying all kinds of things you don't need, things you can't verify they actually did like the paint protection. The service contract and Low **** are automatically added on top of the price of the car. Then you have to fight with them to get them to remove it. Do yourself a favor avoid this dealership at all costs. I have had better luck at ************************* but unfortunately, they sold to another company.Review from To M

I purchased a $70,000 and the first week after driving it the car started over heating and the salesman and sales manager was very disrespectful to guess because I am African American and refuse to fix my car or even come up with a solution now I am calling cooperate and also the news because they are crooks I think everybody should come together and file a class action lawsuitReview from Gary L

The driver side door on my ***** Spark was not closing properly. I went to Zeigler to see if the repair was covered by the warranty. The service department determined that the repair was not covered and they charged me $89.99 just for examining the car and reaching that conclusion when, in fact, no work was done on the vehicle.They estimated the total cost at $289.99. I subsequently received an estimate of the repair cost at $100.00.************Review from Esther D

The car I wanted to buy is listed at $22,750 at cars.com and has been for over a week, https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/e73da894-e756-44e0-a7f4-3ca5635f5a9e/?aff=acqgeosem8&KNC=acqgeosem8&msclkid=a090f7e28fdb191b1c2f9467f7288409. It was listed as $22,784 by CarGurus and *********************, Development consultant at Zeigler Chevrolet of Schaumburg, emailed me info about it, listing it as $22,784. ****** also sent me a trade-in estimate of between $11,600-$12,345. I drive a 2015 ***** Volt with only about ****** miles and in very good shape. After various delays, miscommunications and no communications (I should have taken these as signs for what was to come), I drove from *******, **, to check,and probably buy, this car. That's 124 miles each way. I drove the car while the dealership checked mine. Then we sat to talk. The salesman, *****, informed me that the car's cost is about $27K + many thousands more in extended warantee, ******** etc., none of which were things that I've asked for. I protested that it's listed at $22,500 and he denied it, then said this was a Black Friday thing, which I refuted, then just sent another guy to talk to me. He also informed me that they'd only give $8K for my car. I came expecting to have to pay about $11K but suddenly it was about $22K. The other guy came and insisted that all the stuff I haven't asked for is "deposit." I disagreed. Then ***** came back with a new offer: Ta-Dum! I'll have to pay only $21K after the trade-in! I told him he didn't have a deal and left. 248 miles + gas cost + tolls + backache + a wasted day. This is outrageous. These guys lie to your face. They are scoundrels. Buyer beware, and certainly don't drive any length to find out what lies they have cooked for you.
