We have been using Phoenix for 4 or 5 years and had a great experience with them in the past, but unfortunately in the past year or so they have repeatedly just been trying to up sell a new system. This past winter the technician stated we needed to replace the water heater when I asked him why we were getting only lukewarm water in our bathroom. He gave me a reason about the mixing value and the water heater was at the end of it's life. Luckily I investigated the problem a little more before taking his word. All I needed to do to isolate the problem was a temperature gun to figure out that the water out of the tank was hot and the problem was down the line, and therefore not related to the hot water heater. A similar issue with our A/C occurred recently, but luckily my brother works in the **** industry and was able to help me navigate the problem. I had a number of questions about the A/C service visit and what was found, and why a new system was recommended; however, no one would return our calls for two weeks until we asked for a quote to replace the system. Then I received several calls making sure I received the quote. When I asked to speak with the technician about what they found during the service visit I was told he's too busy. I recommend that you shop around to other highly rated **** companies on the North Shore if you need a new system or need to trouble shoot. There are several that gave us significantly better pricing for higher grade equipment (I know it's higher grade because my brother reviewed the quotes), and they didn't require us to cut extra holes in our ceiling to have easier access. If you own an older home and need work performed in tight attic spaces this is NOT your company. Call around, others will work in tight spaces, will take their time to answer all your questions, and are more knowledgeable and creative at solving problems. As a follow-up to the review, Phoenix terminated our service agreement without providing refund. BEWARE.

Knowing that my 29-year-old furnace was on its last leg, I decided it was time to replace it before the onset of colder weather. I first sought a quote from a large, local company that sent out a salesman to present my options. Keeping a budget in mind, the salesman gave me one option of a mid-range unit by some **************** that had started making furnaces a few years earlier. His quote did not include any possible reworking of the ductwork which was yet to be determined; however, the newer furnaces are smaller, so it was going to be needed, regardless of what company I used to do the work. This left me with multiple unknowns, if I selected them.I then called Phoenix HVAC. Being a smaller company, they dont use a salesperson. Instead, the owner came out to give me a quote. His quote was based on installing a Carrier unit, a brand name that I felt more comfortable purchasing with options of either a single or dual heating functioning unit, and an attached humidifier. The furnace came with a warranty on the primary heat exchanger twice the terms offered by the other guy.******* from Phoenix was pleasant and very thorough in his assessment and quote he emailed me Given the first quote on a single-setting furnace, with a shorter warranty on the heat exchanger by a manufacturer I never heard of, was higher than that I was given by Phoenix on the single-setting Carrier unit, it was an easy decision to choose Phoenix HVAC to do the new install. Then, before, I could have the furnace installed, on a warm day in August, my air conditioner suddenly wasnt cooling. Having established a new relationship with Phoenix HVAC, I called them that afternoon. The office staff was great and arranged for their tech to stop out that day, even though it meant them servicing the a/c outside of normal business hours (it was just past 5 when the tech arrived.) Fortunately, the tech had the part needed (condenser), in his truck and was able to get the a/c up and running in under an hour. On the day of the furnace install, the two techs arrived promptly at the arranged time, and got to work. I had been informed that it would be a 6 to 8-hour job to complete. It took 7 seven hours. The two techs were professional and very pleasant while in my home. I was so pleased with the work on my a/c and then my new furnace that I signed up for the multi-year maintenance program they offer. Its like pre-paying for your annual maintenance service with no charge for the service call, just parts, if needed. Since I hadnt yet paid for service call to fix the condenser, they rolled that up into the plan, so all I paid for was the part, and of course the maintenance plan. I then had them stop out to recharge the a/c, again paying for just the materials used. After my experiences with Phoenix HVAC fixing my older a/c unit and replacing my aged furnace, I would recommend them to friends and family for their homes HVAC needs. They delivered a more personalized, and competitively priced option for my HVAC needs. And now that temps are dropping, my home is warm and welcoming. Thank you Phoenix!
