I would like to express my frustration with our experience with Morton Buildings. My wife and I began this process last year on May 13, 2022 via email with Morton's sales rep **** ******. After receiving a quote, we decided to move forward with construction of a 30x50 Morton Building workshop. **** came to the house to discuss the details, location, and timeline of the process. We received a contract that we signed detailing everything. On the "color page" of the contract we expressed to **** that we were about to embark on a total house renovation and we were not sure of the color scheme we were going to pick, but wanted the house to match the workshop. On the contract we chose Brown with Black trim. He responded by telling us "the color is not a big deal right now because it can be changed before we build, and there's alot that needs to get done before then." **** informed us that we needed a building permit from the town and explained in detail the extensive site work that needed to be completed in order for them to erect the building. About 10 months later we satisfied the requirements for Morton Buildings to continue. Land survey, wetlands commission approval, building permit, and extensive site work. **** requested that I send him the building permit and pictures of the site via e-mail which I did on March 23, 2023. Within a couple days I received a call from **** saying, "It usually takes a month before they can start building because they have meetings on scheduling." A couple weeks later I received another call from **** saying that he would be putting the order in for the building. I emailed **** on April 19, 2023 asking him, "when do we finalize colors?" His response on April 20th was that it was to late to change colors because the material was being loaded on the truck. He explained that in order to get the Grey with Black trim we wanted, we needed to do a "change order". A couple days later, after **** "talked to 7 different people from corporate" it was concluded that in order for us to complete the "change order" and get Grey with Black trim it would cost us an additional $8,000-$12,000 on top of the original cost of the building. **** completely understood our frustration and admitted that he did recall the conversation back on May 13th 2022 about us being unsure of the color scheme we wanted to go with at the time, and he apologized for the mistake. He mentioned to us that he found it strange that the "finalization letter" Morton sends out to customers 3 weeks prior to construction wasn't an indicator to us that the building was being ordered with the original contracted colors. Our response to this was "what finalization letter?" We have all of our mail scanned in before it gets delivered and we did not receive a "finalization letter". It was later confirmed by **** and his Supervisor Craig Uliasz, that the "finalization letter" was never sent to us because the "girl in the office was out of work that week". Had we received this letter when it was supposed to be delivered we may have been able to avoid this unfortunate, costly miscommunication on Morton Building's part. We later received the finalization letter on April 22, 2023. It was dated for April 20th 2023, which was a day after I asked **** "when do we finalize on colors?". On Morton's website they say they are dedicated to "making sure each customer is completely satisfied with their decision to build with Morton." We are not. The final cost to choose our Grey and Black was a non-negotiable $7215. Morton did offer to send us the original Brown material to which we accepted since we had already paid for it. I would gladly give back the useless Brown material in return for the money. Unfortunately $7215 was the lesser or two evils. Driving up our driveway everyday for the rest of our lives looking at an $85,000 garage that doesn't match our house was not an option. Throughout the past year we sat in the passenger seat and fulfilled all the requests of Morton Buildings in attempt to have our building constructed. We were being guided, by them, throughout their process. Unfortunately they had a severe lapse in communication resulting in us incurring an additional $7215 change order bill. My frustration is that all lapses in communication were on Morton's part, yet we incurred 100% of the monetary responsibility. This is wrong and needs to be addressed by Morton Buildings.

I contracted a building in 1999 and was built in 2000. The building has leaked water down the inside walls to the point the lumber is rotting. They came out and pulled tin off the building and replaced some lumber and reinstalled the tin in one area. This area is showing signs of rot again. You can see daylight through the end wall and has a leak. I have contacted the local Morton Building location, but they are not getting any results from corporate as to my problem. I paid a premium for this building thinking I was getting a better building as it turns out I was wrong. I was told by the salesman that they had another building with the same problem built about the same time but could not remember what was done to fix it. The tops of the side wall lumber is showing signs of water damage through out the building. In rain water runs down inside the walls as in the pictures.

I have been in contact with Morton Building in Mexico Mo. several time in the past few weeks trying to get something done.  I'm told the answer has to come from the top management.

My house was destroyed by a tornado and so was my pole barn. I reached out to Morton to do some work and repair my doors. I had to put 2/3 of the money down and was assured the work would be completed by October 2021. Currently Morton holds $4202 of mine that I am still paying interest on in payments. I tried from the middle of September to the first week of October to get this scheduled so I could have surgery that was badly needed. Finally I called back and gave them one date in October that I could not accommodate . On that date which was October 19, 2021 I had other obligations. In between 10 and 1030 ***** called and said we are going to drop off your materials in your driveway. I told him that would not be acceptable I currently have my day booked and I do not want these materials sitting out in the weather. I asked why in the last three weeks that I had reached out no one bothered to call me back and what date in October are they planning on coming to repair the barn. He said he would keep the materials at the shop out of the weather and now it would look like sometime later because they were already booked up yet I was assured in July it would be done the first part of October. In November ***** called and said we’ve got a date. I was told his guy would be here 24 November. That morning he called me and let me know his partner was ill. He then told me we will be there for sure on the 26th of November 7 a.m. He was a no call no show. I’m finished with Morton. They have breached their contract and I want to have compensation for a breach of contract as well. I want my money and I want interest from July till now paid back to me in the form of a cashiers check. I’ve been paying the interest. As a result of their breach of contract I ended up having to wait till 2022 to have a surgery which meant I paid another deductible so Morton has cost me quite a bit. I expect to have what I paid, interest and $1500.00compensation.
