Property is attempting to bill me for wear and tear repairs. Latest is the microwave, which was there when I moved in September of 2015 so almost 8 years old. Door had a crack in it, maintenance was aware. Crack got worse and door fell off. Maintenance was shown, no response. Put in a repair ticket. Two weeks later I was told that repairing it would cost more than replacing it and they would bill me the cost of either. Pointing out that the microwave was 8 years old and had depreciated, they then told me that if I didn't agree to pay to replace it they would bill me the higher option and repair it. They are refusing to respond or repair at this point, three weeks after repair ticket was placed. I have reached out to their corporate office and have still not gotten this resolved.Business response

This is in response to ************************* complaint regarding damage to her microwave. We were not aware of any issues, such as cracks, as **************** has stated. **************** submitted a service request stating her microwave door fell apart. Maintenance responded to her service request and determined that the broken microwave door needed to be replaced. This is not considered normal wear and tear. **************** was notified that she would be responsible for this damage. She did not agree with our determination that this was not considered normal wear and tear and contacted our corporate office. I contacted ****************, by email at 10:47am, on **** 27th for a meeting request. This being the same day the complaint was filed. The meeting was scheduled, with myself, our Regional Manager, ******************* and Maintenance Supervisor for **** 30th. It was determined that, as a courtesy, we would replace her microwave door at no charge. Maintenance secured a replacement microwave door and it was installed on July 11th, 2023.
