******************* has told me he would take care of me because my lawn was suffering from drought and would recover in the spring. The lawn has not recovered, it is a 10 square foot patch which is in question.*** said he would take me to dinner and the lawn would be fine.I'm asking for a $300 refund of the $800 i paid for his service. He has flatly reversed course and would not refund any amount.Word of mouth is an important form of advertising. He needs to respect his customers and stand by his work.Business response

************** is a long time customer and a wonderful man. He called me with concerns for his lawn last fall. Upon visiting the property I found an area of the lawn in the backyard (which is a western exposure and receives direct sunlight at the hottest time of the day)). I asked ************** how long he was watering that particular portion of the lawn. He told me he was watering for 10 minutes every other day. This amount is grossly insufficient of the 60 or more minutes that are necessary for that type of sprinkler head and for the severity of the drought and ***** degree above normal heat last summer.
Still I indicated to ************** that the lawn would recover from the drought damage over the course of the spring. He needs to recognize that spring is not over until June 21st! Our job is to provide the lawn with proper feeding and to also apply the necessary controls for weeds, crabgrass and grub prevention. We also provide our lawn maintenance recommendations as well as a rain gauge to help him calibrate his sprinkler system with the initial treatment in the spring. He clearly did not follow those recommendations. Our recommendations call for a 1" soaking twice/week when temperatures are above 85 degrees. For his size lawn that is **** gallons per watering. I respectfully submit that there is no way he is getting anywhere close to that amount of water by watering only ten minutes/zone. Acopy of those recommendations are attached.
Long story short it is not our fault the maintenance recommendations were not followed and it is not our fault that the area was in a moderate to severe drought with temperatures ***** degrees above normal last summer. However, if at the end of spring the lawn hasn't recovered we will be happy to aerate and overseed that area of lawn for him. ell us why here...

I am rejecting this response because: He told me he woulld reimburse me for damaged area. It's stated in his communication that his work is 100% gauranteed. I am asking for $300, which he said he would pay for if lawn doesn't respond, which it hasn't.He is not a man of his word and does not stand by his work.

We've already responded to this complaint. This is a frivolous complaint and ************** is lying about my response to the drought damage on his property. I told him that I would take care of the damage if it didn't heal over the course of the spring. Paying a landscaper to replace the damage was never a part of that conversation. He never gave the lawn an opportunity to heal as he paid a landscaper to replace the area before it was even out of dormancy - a full two months before the end of spring.He only watered that area of the lawn for 10 minutes a zone which is not even two tenths of an inch. During a severe drought and temperatures in the 90's that is not enough water to even keep up with the rate of evaporation (which is 1/4-1/2"/day). It is also very possible that this area was being missed by the irrigation completely.As I said in my previous response it is not our fault that he didn't water the lawn properly. It also isn't our fault that the summer was so extremely hot and dry.*************************
