We bought a hedge trimmer ****** - SHC-225 from A and P Nursery ******************************************************************, ********************* ************** on May 5th 2025 a month later broke down (*note we buy only echo tools and have noticed that many of those tools broke down relatively easy for apparent no reason within few months after purchase and finally decided to claim warranty and switching to your other brand ******** hoping for better quality) we took the tool to ******* formerly A to Z equipment on July 7, 2025 and as of today we didn't hear any news about our request for warranty. I have used, and enjoyed my Echo 58v weed eater and leaf blower for years. I have been a huge proponent of these pieces of equipment - recommending them to friends and colleagues. I was disappointed to see that they do not offer the 58v battery replacement anymore. The equipment itself still functions as it should and I hate to be in this position after years of praise from me for a great product. I cannot afford to fully replace my equipment, and it seems Ive just been left high and dry by the company I supported.Business Response

I purchased a lawn mower, string trimmer and blower in the Echo 58V system based on Echo's reputation in the outdoor power tool industry, believing I was buying into a line of tools that would serve me for a long time to justify the premium price. I have been having intermittent problems with the batteries charging so I tried to find the batteries at *********** where I bought my tools but the 58V line has been completely discontinued. Having used cordless power tools from major brands, which have evolved their batteries but still keep them compatible over the last 20+ years, I was shocked that I can't get a battery for my otherwise perfectly operating lawnmower, nor can I use my existing batteries in any of the new tools Echo sells. If there really had been some quantum leap in battery technology, that would be one thing, but either way it's a box with lithium ion cells in it that slides onto your tool, but someone decided it should be (nominally) 56V instead, and slightly differently shaped to force you to replace perfectly operating tools with new ones.Business Response

I own the Echo 58v mower, string trimmer, and chainsaw along with three 4ah batteries. This was a significant money investment. Two of the batteries are no longer holding a full charge and one battery is unusable. Unfortunately Echo has abandoned the 58v system and I am left unsupported as I cannot buy new batteries. This is further an issue as it appears that cells within the 58v batteries wear out prematurely. When I purchased into the 58v ecosystem I planned on sticking with it and buying more tools. Echo's abandonment of those who purchased into the 58v system has caused a financial loss as I will have to replace all of the tools with some other solution.Business Response

My DPB-2500 Blower is only 2 years old with a 5 year warranty and it will not run at full speed, even with new battery fully charged. I contacted Echo to get a replacement blower and they ignored me. I don't want a faulty blower and I want Echo to honor their warranty. These battery blowers cannot be serviced, their internal parts are not serviceable. All I want is a new blower and I will be satisfied.Business Response

My 56V blower is sluggish lately, even with full battery. Only blows full power with turbo button, otherwise the trigger is low.Please send me a new blower since I'm under warranty.We advised you need to go to a local ECHO dealer. The nearest dealer is about 2 miles away from you. You will need to go there to have them inspect the unit. Please let us know if you need assistance in locating a dealer.

I have an Echo chainsaw, trimmer, blower all with the 58volt system .These tools are very useful, but the batteries are a problem.They were very expensive, and I have 2 batteries that will no longer charge, and replacements are not available as they have discontinued the 58volt system.The tools worked very well but now I have tools I cannot use because of the battery problem ,I have used echo products for a while and was quite pleased until now .The sole purpose going to electric was noise and renewable for the climate .I am very disappointed in echo for making for this defective battery without a consumer solution .Business Response

The 58v battery on the Echo weed eater does not charge despite the fact that the battery cells are not worn out. I had a battery charging specialist verify that the battery cells themselves were fine. This is a flaw in the manufacturing of the battery. I bought an Echo 58V chain saw. The battery failed within one year. **** replaced the battery under the warrantyand then the same thing happened again. Internet research shows that there was a design flaw with the Echo 58V system. When I contacted Echo about the second failure, they told me that the 58V system had been discontinued and replaced with a new 56V system, which is not compatible with the tool that I purchased. My tool, however, was no longer under warranty, so Echo washed its hands of all responsibility. Replacement batteries (when can be found) cost almost as much as the tool itself. ****, despite billing itself as premium brand has NO customer service and does not stand behind its mistakes. The customer is left with a useless tool. **** should recall its defective 58V tools and replace them with a system that actually works.Business Response

I have an Echo chainsaw, trimmer, blower and hedge trimmer...all use the 58 V battery. I have 2 batteries and chargers and have replaced the batteries twice, and currently one of those has now failed. Neither the equipment nor the batteries were cheap, and it now seems that they have phased them out?? Now I'm left with equipment I can neither use nor sell. I purchased the Echo 58v yard care system, the Blower and the String Trimmer along with two chargers and 4 batteries, three 2amp and one 4amp. Now two of the 2amp and the one 4amp batteries will not charge. It appears Echo failed to put a low discharge cut off in their batteries and that's why so many are failing much earlier than they should. **** has discontinued this line of product and replaced these tools and battery system with a whole new uncompilable line leaving all of us users with useless tools. They no longer sell the batteries and the few places that have any stock left are prohibitively price, often charging higher than a new tool battery combo. This is very poor customer support. The sole reason I went to these battery operated tools was due to a disability that prevents me from being able to pull to start my other Echo String Trimmers or my Echo backpack blower.Business Response
