As of April 2023 I had attempted to remove my items from the storage location. I was informed by the store ***** that the lock was removed, and that the tamper tag just needed to be twisted until it pops off. This was not the case when attempting to remove my belongings.In May 2023 I addressed my grievances with the agent, who was never available at the location anytime I or family members attempted to access the location. I have made several attempts to reach the corporate office, left voicemails to no avail. I have also contacted the district manager "****" via phone, message, and email and have also been ignored. I wish for my May, and 1/2 of April be refunded because I was not given access to my unit, I have correspondence to prove what i'm saying is accurate. The location Account Manager is extremely impossible to work with.Initial Complaint

On4/1/2018 I rented two units from Simply Self Storage @ ************************************************************************. A climate control @ $152.00 plus $10 for insurance and an outdoor @$106.00 plus $10 for insurance. I rented these units in good faith. In the contract it states month to month with above listed amounts. It does say they may change rent by mailing notice. What they dont say in the contract is that I can EXPECT rent to go up every six months. My first payment was was $278.00. Every six months I am notified that one or the other unit is going up $50.00. Or Im notified that insurance is going up $20.00. Im not sure if its my items being insured. My payments are now up to $560.00 Im quite sure that they will be higher by the end of the year. I have spoken to them and asked them to stop this Ive been told my the local storage manager theres nothing she can do because its computer driven. The and only time I spoke to **** *************) he did temporarily lower the charge on one of the units. So its obviously not out of there control. I want this to stop.Initial Complaint

This institution has breached my privacy as a customer and has allowed another individual to handle my account without any consent or authorization from myself for any other individual but myself. There were break ins that I was not notified about. Items stolen from my unit and unauthorized changes and charges to my account. I am seeking to discuss these matters and close my account, however because of their own negligence 888 palm bay rd's simply self storage has taken a stance of ignoring me and giving me the run around to try and alleviate the headache caused by their lack of taking any identification measures. I am lost with no avail whilst only I try to address this issue that they are not allowing me to handle and that will negatively impact my credit. I have no information on the status of my account and the store ************************* has exclusively refused to speak to me or help with this matter caused by himself and his equally noncompliant workers like ****** that have failed me as a renter/customer of this company. He is adamant that he will not speak to me or even direct me on how to reach someone that can assist me without me having to lose work and travel. when he snidely dismissed helping me he also shared that corporate was aware of the situation but would not provide any resolution as a manager or that one was offered from corporate either, nor have I been contacted from any representative of the company. Again, I would greatly appreciate assistance as this matter threatens to impact my credit.Initial Complaint

On April 1, 2022, I was charged $152 from the Simply Self Storage on Bay Area Blvd. Previously I was charged $137 monthly for the storage unit. I received no prior notice regarding the price change. I emptied out my storage unit on April 4th and called the facility the next business day on April 5th to report my unit was vacated. I asked to receive a partial refund so that I would only pay a prorated fee for the month of April and the business manager refused. I am seeking a refund of $127 to cover the storage fee from April 1st-April 5th.Initial Complaint

I paid simply self storage $62.95 January 5 plus I sent $201.00 in money orders they say they didn't receive my mail and they say I owe $199.00 and call back it was $39900 simply storage is stealing people money some one need to investigate them cost they doing bad book keeping beating tenants out of money i need to talk to someone about this matter ASAP THANK UInitial Complaint

These people sold my storage without trying to allow me to resolve the amount owed. They called a deactivated number and claimed to have left a voice-mail. They never called the emergency contact. All they did was send one letter in the mail. When I went to the office they wouldn't even help me saying "you have no account with us." After begging them for information they said they would call the buyer to see if my birth certificate can be returned to me. I am very upset about the whole incident as I was going to pay the balance today but it is too late. Now i see they are not BBB accredited. I used to work at a storage facility and we made sure to allow customers the chance to at least move their stuff out of the unit. I am very upset.Initial Complaint

I rented a storage unit from the airways Southaven ms simply storage unit. Well in the unit we found that rodents had ruined my mattress and box spring I have been going back and forth with the storage unit manager to the insurance company to trying to contact corporate office since the 25th of June the unit keep directing me to the insurance company they telling me it’s the facility maintenance issue so in return I’m out of 1000 mattress set because nobody wants to pay for my damages. People put their stuff in storage for safe keeping not for to get merchandise damaged and nobody takes accountability for the issue . Personally I live on a budget and buying new mattresses was not in my budget. And to make matters worse neither corporate or my storage unit manager have returned my calls. And all I get is answering machines I have never been late but they did a price increase in the middle of my contract. I just want my stuff replaced
