Was looking for a truck and found one posted on their website- a 2500HD 2000's blue ***** Silverado. The salesman attempted to sell a mechanically rusted out truck advertised as used but very clean condition and went even further to say it'd be great for towing when the photos provided showed how bad the condition of it was. For the price point it's at and condition needed for safe operation and that information not being disclosed, this is nothing less than a deceptive and borderline scummy/dangerous thing to do. Vehicle information report indicates there is no extensive rust if any at all on the vehicles frame and vital components when leaks and unreported damage is already visible. Response to complaint from Mr. ***** *******
      To whom it may concern:
In Response to ***************** complaint about Jennings Chevrolet selling practices:
      1) The 2500HD Diesel Silverado in question is a one owner truck purchased and serviced at
Jennings and a very clean truck.
      2) We also spent over $4000 in our service department on repairs and maintenance to insure it
met our rigorous 172 point inspection.
      3) Then we sent it to our body shop to do all the body work and touchup it needed.
      4) Next to our detail shop for a full detail (which include cleaning the buffing the exterior and
shampooing the interior) .after that we took pictures and posted the truck on our website.
      5) A 2500HD Silverado has a towing capacity of (**** ***** lbs), which makes this truck a great
      towing vehicle.
      6) This customer never been to our dealership to view this clean truck in person so he has all the
      wrong facts about this truck.
      7) We are not willing to discount this truck any more for ******************.
Thank you for your time in this matter.

      Complaint: 17536246

I am rejecting this response because:

      1) The 2500HD Diesel Silverado in question is a one owner truck purchased and serviced at
Jennings and a very clean truck.
There were never any questions about the number of owners.
      2) We also spent over $4000 in our service department on repairs and maintenance to insure it
met our rigorous 172 point inspection.
Can receipts be provided for the ***** spent on repairs? What repairs were made? Can the 172 point inspection be provided? What exactly does this inspection include? please provide a list and further information regarding each of the 172 points.
      3) Then we sent it to our body shop to do all the body work and touchup it needed.
There were never any questions concerning its body work that needed touched up
      4) Next to our detail shop for a full detail (which include cleaning the buffing the exterior and
shampooing the interior) .after that we took pictures and posted the truck on our website.
That is a standard for anyone selling anything- an overhead as you will
      5) A 2500HD Silverado has a towing capacity of (**** ***** lbs), which makes this truck a great
      towing vehicle.
Yes, a 2500HD is a great towing vehicle- your particularly listed truck used to be, but from photos alone It can be said that it is not currently. If so, can it be proven? - extensive frame and component rust alongside worn/degraded parts does not reflect a great towing vehicle as it was insisted it would be perfect for. An analogy; A dry paper towel is equivalent to a new vehicle. this vehicle has wet spots throughout its paper towel- its integrity as advertised is compromised.
      6) This customer never been to our dealership to view this clean truck in person so he has all the
      wrong facts about this truck.
The "wrong facts" were gathered from simple observations. The purpose of photo's is to get an understanding of the vehicles condition- Using the logic of never viewing the truck in person means that nothing on your website reflects the vehicle because it has yet to be seen in person. This being a "clean truck" is overemphasized quite frequently- anyone can clean a vehicle-it's functionality and condition of parts that make it a vehicle, rather than a shell and seats, is not. This is cosmetically clean- not structurally and functionally clean.  Misleading language and advertising this vehicle as if it came straight from the factory contrary to clear issues that apparently weren't worth fixing as claimed above is unacceptable. An analogy: Saying a pair of oil stained and ripped/holy/torn jeans are super clean and should be worn to a formal dress code wedding because they've been washed three times using hot water and special tide soap, air dried, ironed, and starched.
      7) We are not willing to discount this truck any more for ******************.
This truck was never discounted to begin with, and in fact, I was told the price would be raised approximately **** more dollars by the end of the week when the initial conversation was had.

All of the information I have provided has been and can be accounted for.

      Complaint: 17536246

I am rejecting this response because:

How convenient! Am I supposed to congratulate you on successfully conning an unsuspecting customer into the sale as you attempted to do to myself? It took this long to come up with that measly response- "the truck is gone anyways so we no longer want to talk about it" ? Sounds as though this business is attempting to compensate for something and doing so quite poorly. Embarrassing really. I'm beyond positive that if they were sent this same information and were aware of the tactics and absence of any support or evidence for the information portrayed and provided in this dialogue on that truck, it would have never left the lot.

      Sincerely,

      Miles *******
