I searched for a new auto insurance policy online for one vehicle in the evening of November 2023 and I happen to have a perfect driving record - so I have no trouble getting a competitive rates and coverage. I received quotes from several potential providers and decided to proceed with State Farm insurance and prepaid for a month for a new auto policy. The next day two different State ************* contacted me from ********, **. I talked to representatives from both agencies and decided the first agency was trying to pressure me too much to sell me additional insurance I didnt need such as condo insurance and selected the second agency that contacted me - the Jason Douglas State *********** of ******** **. However, the first State *********** went ahead without my knowledge and opened a new policy even though I said I wanted to give my business to the second agency. So long story short I asked ******** State *********** #1 to cancel the policy they started and I asked ******** State *********** #2 - again the Jason Douglas agency to start the new auto policy for me. The Jason Douglas Agency proceeded to pretend they opened a new auto policy for me and had me fill out paperwork and application when they didnt and only created a monthly payment account on autopay and I drove around for a month thinking I had auto insurance when much to my horror I discovered I was uninsured by State Farm and had no active auto insurance. I called the Jason Douglas Agency several times and they claimed it was in underwriting. I requested a refund for the month I paid for and they wont respond. Someone named ******* at that office repeatedly lied over the phone to me about my non existent policy. I was so disgusted by them I went back to my old auto insurance provider and reactivated my account which took all over 5 minutes because of my perfect driving record.Business response

I believe there is confusion on how the process actually works. The complaint most likely needs to be forwarded on to ** corporate and not the servicing agency.
The Agency assists in filling out the application and taking payment for State ********** Our representative here at agency completed application took payment and sent to State Farm. Customer policy # was *************** Status shown as "Issued" in my system.
The agency process is complete. I also have attached proof of my agencies accuracy and completeness and also covered insurance policy.
Corporate underwriters then review for accuracy and finish the Issuance on policy. This part was not complete. Underwriter supervisor from State Farm has confirmed as such and was error on corporate side. I believe perhaps the cancellation with Agency #1 described in customer complaint maybe had something to do with this but not sure.
Refund will need to be requested from State Farm corporate. i dont actually receive any funds into my account and if no ********************** on file going forward i dont get any compensation from State ********** which is further evidence that no scam can take place.

I am rejecting this response because: The dec and proof of insurance was not processed until after the complaint was submitted regarding the servicing agency. I would like the refund of $55.66 ans originally requested. You are able to help request a refund on my behalf. Please do so asap.

I am rejecting this response because I want a handwritten apology letter from the agency about my negative experience instead of blaming corporate office for your mistakes and oversight. I drove for more than a month thinking I had insurance when I didnt.
