2 days after purchasing the vehicle, I was reviewing the car documents and I noticed a $3487 discrepancy ADDED TO the actual listed price of the vehicle.Vehicle Listed Price=32,299 Plus Taxes listed=2223.45 Total= ********* The receipt they provided me shows price of vehicle plus tax=$38,008.45 A discrepancy overage =$3487. The FINANCE Manager had clearly explained to me about the service warranty and the *** coverage (both of which I did accept and purchase). He also explained all other forms and all other fees IN DETAIL.. CONVENIENTLY, HE NEGLECTED TO MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT "ACCESSORIES PACKAGE". None of the online forms, which I also signed included this fee. All other charges were clearly noted. However, there was still an additional $3486 excess which I could not account for.*********** then screenshoted me a picture of a form with an "accessories" charge which UNBEKNOWNST TO ME, I had signed. I had no clue what that meant. I never purchased or asked for any accessories package. I was already charged for the *** coverage and the Warranty.. so why the heck was I charged this "accessories fee" WITH NO EXPLANATION"I even spoke with the General Manager, and requested an explanation. He said only the finance person could provide me the answer. Finance person did call and INSISTED that the salesperson told me about this "Accessories Fee/City Package.I was adamant that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE EVER MENTION OR DISCUSSED THIS $3487 FEE.He then stated this fee is added to every car they sell.I reminded him that he had clearly explained every other fee, including ***, SERVICE warranty, registration, title tax etc.But no one spoke a word on this fee. I was never even given this copy until I inquired and demanded an explanation for the difference in the price. I'm requesting they refund this "accessories fee" which was added to the listed price of the car without disclosure then also taxed without my knowledge. *****************************Business response

Complaint: 20655252
I am rejecting this response because: they refused to give me refund for the hidden accessories fee of $3484 added to the price of the car. I was victim to the deceptive sales tactic of this unscrupulous finance manager. My wish is that by reading my and other similiar complaints re: this dealership other unsuspecting customers will be more cautious when purchasing from this dealership.
Sincerely,

ABSOLUTELY NO PRODUCTS WERE PURCHASED OTHER THEN THE **** DEALER AS WELL AS FINANCE MANAGER ARE LIARS, RUTHLESS THIEVES AND UNETHICAL. THIS IS HOW THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS.BY ADDING ON HIDDEN SURCHARGES TO ADVERTISED PRICE OF THE **** THEY GOT ME FOR $3484
IF AUDITS OF ALL PREVIOUS CUSTOMER'S ITEMIZED SALES BILL ARE CONDUCTED YOU WILL FIND ACCESSORIES FEE WITH NO ACCESSORIES PURCHASED.
REPORT WAS MADE TO ******** ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

On April 24th 2023 I went to Autobarn for a 2014 ****** Corolla with the **** ***************** with the sticker price of ****** and negotiate it to match the ***** blue book value of ****** being that the car had an accident reported. I walked in with a pre qualification from *********** with a pre approval of $57.000.When I arrived they told me the vehicle was sold as I was leaving they later said they would sell it to me.The reason I am filing this complaint is because I only signed the contract because of the false information I was told.1. I was told I could not negotiate the price to match the ***** blue book value because my loan would not be approved 2. I told them I didn't want the gap insurance, I was told my loan would not be approved without gap insurance and it was was mandatory 3. They lied about it being mandatory to purchase accessories I felt very unsettled and coerced I found out about all the lies after speaking with my *********** agent on Tuesday April 25th, and she told me that 1. gap insurance is not mandatory 2. the accessories are not mandatory 3. negotiating the price of the vehicle is allowed, and is the dealerships discretion, however that does not correlate to whether or not I will be approved for a loan, which is what was used to coerce me into signing the contract. Not once did the representative ask me if I wanted accessories or the gap insurance, and when I asked to have it removed he lied instead *********** put a hold on the payment and said they wouldn't finance the vehicle without me calling to approve the loan. I was told the contract can be redrafted or I didn't have to purchase the vehicle at all.I went to the dealership on April 25th, today, to request they either redraft the contract and meet my resolution request or refund me my downpayment they did not agree to either so I left the keys with them that morning however after receiving legal council I was told go back and pick up the car which I did in the evening.Business response

I spoke with a financial representative at Autobarn Nissan of Evanston on 1/12/2023 regarding the purchase of my leased 2020 Altima, which matures next month. I was emailed a payoff letter with an inflated MSRP than was on my original contract. Additionally there were several dubious fees attached: a $995.00 processing fee, a $475.00 buyer fee & a $347.26 processing/documents fee. None of these fees were ever explained to me when I signed the lease papers on 2/11/2020. At that time, I was told I would pay $13,915.20 + a $300.00 (purchase option fee) as well as sales tax. When I asked about the fees, I was told they were standard fees. I am a 70yr.old retiree & have been a lifelong Nissan owner. Please help me in this matter. - *****************Business response
