Proposal # C210679 Inv# **** I have flashing/drainage that was not properly completed which is over 8 feet long and large enough to get your finger from the bottom of their new EFIS work to the interior of the building. This is now causing leaks and resulting damage to my property. They are stating they told me about this when the work was completed, but they did not. I would not allow contractors to leave a hole in my roof and it contradicts the contract. The signed contract states that "drip edges" would be used and sealing will be installed where their new work "butts against dissimilar material", and this is not the case and would fix my issue. Also, they did part of the exact same work without the hole so I know it can be done (note this still does not have the drip edges as stated in the contract). Since I noticed this they have done a lot of finger pointing, then said they would get back to me, I have followed up but still have no resolution to the issue or even a response. The images attached shows the issue, as you can see there is no seal between the existing roof and their new EFIS work (at the top of the photo). Also there is no drip edge as stated in the attached proposal. I can also show where they did do some of this work with a seal between the roof and the back bottom of the ***** let me know if you need this photo.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:*****'s statement that the contract ******** work was done in full is incorrect. The contract states: Installation of aesthetic accents, (cornices, reveals, V-grooves, drip edges, etc.) and Furnish and install caulking in those areas where ******** butts against dissimilar material . I've attached a copy of the contract in this complaint.
Installation of drip edges and caulking to areas where the ******** system butts against dissimilar material would make it impossible to have a gap along the roof along where the ******** was installed. This is the hole ***** mentions in his response, which did not exist until after Chicago Masonry partially completed the work outlined in the contract.
Since I entered this complaint, there were two site visits by Chicago Masonry. On June 20, 2022 I was told that Chicago Masonry will be coming out the week of June 26 to fix this issue by caulking to areas where ******** butts against dissimilar material and install the drip edge. If Chicago Masonry does not complete this work outlined in the contract, I believe this would be considered a breach of contract.
Sincerely,
