I was charged $1,118 for a move quoted at $525. The move wasn't completed (items that were enumerated in the contract were left in the home, on my front porch or laid in the grass. I wasn't provided with a second invoice detailing any additional charges, an estimate of additional charges or the opportunity to pay the balance in cash to avoid additional surcharges for using a credit card. The ****** did a walk through of my apartment while begging items that were to be thrown out. When I said the move included the refrigerator he said he didnt have my contract. They said they needed to do a drop off at my new address. I went to meet them and no movers. They disappeared with my belongings for an hour. All I could smell was marijuana when they came. I asked where they went... first said to get a drink, next got lost no GPS, finally they went to lunch. Its 3 guys and 2 of them stay at the truck while only one takes my things in the house. This extended the move tremendously. Some of my stuff fell in the filthy alley water. They said they couldnt finish the job and would have to come back tomorrow. I sent the company an email the next morning detailing everything. Their only response was marijuana use is a reason for automatic dismissal. After going back and forth with the office manager, ****** she said she could have them come back for another $525. I repeatedly asked to speak to the company manager to no avail. Finally, they agreed to finish the job at no additional cost. They sent back the same crew. Then I got a call saying its going to be another $325 to finish. Im overseeing a furniture delivery at my new home, but my daughter there on FaceTime. I call my son at work and he speaks to the manager, *****. My son tells him about the unprofessionalism. ***** says he doesnt want to hear it and he can tell the movers to take my sh** off the truck and back in the house. Instead they leave my things on the porch and in the front yard. I had to hire more movers.
