      CONSUMERS ORIGINAL COMPLAINT:

i have them as my law attorney to help me get something from pace vbus thay came to house once then i tryed to call them no one returns call when i call at all cant get hold of who helping me at all i like to get case handled by them right way and ge3t calls back when i call them

Please be advised ****************** reached out to our firm for assistance in late February, **************************************************** the month. She spoke with with a member of our intake team several times in the next few days. On February 28, 2024 we informed ****************** that although we believed she has a meritorious case, we would need to refer her case to co-counsel rather than handle it in-house. In the interim of the referral process, our firm began taking action on ************************** behalf.

On March 7, 2024 ****************** left a message for our intake staff. The following day, she filed this complaint and left another voicemail for our staff. Our staff returned her call on Saturday March 9. While we typically answer calls the day received or within 24 hours, our staff chose to work on a Saturday to ensure ****************** and others received proper attention. On March 10, we received an email from **************** informing us she no longer needed our services as she had found other counsel.

Ankin Law did everything we could to support ****************** within the very short time we were affiliated. Even if ***************** reached our staff when she called on March 7, she would have still  been disappointed because she wanted us to take her case rather than referring it to outside counsel. Unfortunately, we are unable to help everyone directly who contacts us for legal assistance.

We wish her the best in the pursuit of her claim.

I had an injury 1/28/22 and thought I was reaching out to the best firm at the time. Everything was going fine as of the doctor's ************ and physical therapy. Once ********* decided that I no longer needed care 10/22 I returned to work full duty. 12/22-01/23 I was let go from work because I could no longer perform my job duties. I received a call from ********************* letting me know I would hear something back May 2023. I have reached out multiple times via phone, voicemail and emails to him and his assistant and no one responds. It has been almost a year since I heard from the firm and I just want to know what's going on with my case. When I call the receptionist say that there in a meeting or unavailable every time and I feel like as a client I shouldn't have to call to find out anything there should be some type of communication from the firm. This feels like I'm being discriminated against and have been through enough pain and suffering.

      Good afternoon,

Please accept this as our formal response to Antawanes ******. I am bound by the restraints of my profession when providing a response to ******************** complaint.

Immediately upon receiving this email on December 5, 2023, Attorney ********************* tried to call Complainant, Antwanes ******. He could not leave a message because ******************** voicemail was full. He followed up with an extensive email apologizing for not getting back to **************** sooner and updating her on the status of her case along with next steps in the upcoming weeks.

Attorney ****** encouraged **************** to leave a message in his voicemail if he is unavailable when she calls. If she ever has a problem with communication or any other aspect of her representation, she is welcome to contact me. I am the Office Manager; my direct line is ************ and email is ***********************************.

I am grateful **************** reached out to BBB so we had this opportunity to apologize for the drop in communication and ensure her case is on track.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************, Esq.

In 02/2023, I contacted Attorney ******* of Ankin Law in regard to a potential med mal claim. I provided her with the medical records she requested. Throughout the next several months, I followed up with ****************** to determine whether she felt the claim had merit and was advised she was still having the matter evaluated. On Thursday, April 27, 2023, her email to me indicated, "I'll be in touch by end of day Tuesday...". When I, yet again, did not hear from her, I followed up and still have never received a response.

Please accept this document as our formal response to Complaint #********, filed by Consumer *****************************. Please note, as always, I am bound by the restraints of my profession when providing a response to Ms. ********** complaint.

********************** reached out to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) because she had not received a response from Ankin Law regarding a potential medical malpractice case.

Ankin Law first learned of Ms. ********** concern when I received the current BBB complaint in September 2023. ********************** had reached out to Attorney ************************* in February 2023 regarding a potential medical malpractice case. Attorney ******* wanted to give extra attention to Ms.********** request because ********************** had worked previously for her father. After reviewing the medical records, Attorney ******* consulted with Attorney ******************************* who focuses on medical malpractice. Attorney ******** concluded we would not represent ********************** in the matter. In May 2023, Attorney ******* asked a member of our intake team to add the issue to our case management system and inform ********************** we would not be proceeding with her case.

Upon investigating the present complaint, we discovered the employee who was supposed to upload the information and notify ********************** regarding the outcome failed to enter any information regarding ********************** into our system. Our intake team has a process for following up with open intakes so potential clients receive timely responses from our firm. However, since Ms.********** information was never entered into our system we had no way of discovering the mistake. The employee who failed to upload the information resigned in early September 2023.

On October 18, 2023, Attorney ******** and Attorney ******* called **********************. Attorney ******** explained to ********************** the rationale behind our conclusion regarding her issue. Attorney ******* repeatedly expressed her apology for not responding to Ms. ********** emails in a timely manner. The Firm followed up by emailing ********************** a letter restating our conclusion which she should have already received.

I am grateful ********************** reached out to BBB so we had this opportunity to apologize for the drop in communication and explain the reasoning behind our conclusion. Should ********************** desire, she still has plenty of time to find other counsel to represent her in this matter.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I completely understand why my claim was not accepted. However, the lack of communication and response from Attorney ******* from our initial interaction until finally hearing from her last week cannot be completely blamed on an assistant. She is to blame as well, as she didnt return calls or emails throughout this entire time. I have been in the legal field for over 25 years, and I understand how busy attorneys are, but this lack of response was extremely concerning.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Consulted attorney for personal injury after my accident in July of 2019. When accident happened attny told me we will fight for you to get money. Atttorney&#**;s name was *******************************. He sent me to **************** for lumbar treatments and physical treatment after the accident. im filing this complaint because they are settling for only $25,000.00 The breakdown of monies is as follows: $5,000 goes to me; $13,000.00 to ********* clinic and $7,000.00 goes to the law firm. I don&#**;t think this settlement is fair, They discouraged from going to trial and i felt we should go to trial for this case . the court should have decided so i could get more money for my living expenses as I am disabled now.
