I ordered 9 light fixtures, all the same color and finish, in December 2021 from Production Distribution Companies (PDC). March 26, 2022, I emailed my PDC salesman, ***************************, to ask for an additional fixture to be ordered from the manufacturer, Lithonia Lighting. PDC completed the order form for Lithonia Lighting, and submitted the order. My electrician installed this last fixture several months after installing the first 9, so it wasnt until additional work was being done near the 15 foot high outdoor fixtures that I realized that the last fixture ordered was not the same finish as the previous 9 fixtures. I contacted PDC, and ******************* told me that without the original packaging, Lithonia Lighting would not accept a return. I would not be able to exchange the light fixture for one with the correct textured finish. The packaging was long ago thrown away, and PDC will not exchange the light fixture. The president of PDC, *******************, emailed me to say that returns have to be done when the material is received by the customer, and no manufacturer accepts products back after theyve been installed. He says he tried all he could to get a return, and he apologized that I got the wrong fixture. I didnt just get the wrong fixture. PDC ordered the wrong fixture. I compared the codes on the quotes I have from December 8 and March 31, and the second quote has a different, and I assume incorrect, code for the color and finish. This was a mistake that PDC made and I think that PDC should acknowledge the ordering mistake it made, and either exchange the fixture for one with the correct color and finish, or it should refund the cost of the $243 fixture. Additionally, while I am not asking for PDC to pay for the electrician to return to the job, I would like to note that even with the fixture being exchanged, I will still have to pay for the electrician to switch out the fixtures.Customer response
