Hello my name is *******************************, and I am formally attempting to file a complaint through the BBB on Caribe Funeral Home, for illegally having a funeral behind my back after I had come out of pocket for ALL of the funeral arrangements ************************** Laminated Cards, etc) On September 20th, 2022 was the day that my Father had passed away due to suicide. Because of the circumstances surrounding his death, his current life insurance policy notified me that it would take anywhere from ***** days for any of his insurance policies to be reflected. Unfortunately, life insurance policies don't cover suicides, which has forced me to pay entirely out of pocket for my father's funeral arrangements AND burial. Prior to the funeral which had taken place on October 12th, 2022 I had spoken directly to the director of the funeral home ***************************** about family issues that would arise with specific family members who wanted to have a say in my father's funeral arrangements. I am the only daughter of my father, and I made it explicitly clear that I wanted NO other family members in charge of anything regarding my father's funeral arrangements. The funeral home went directly against these wishes and allowed the family members that I did not want to have at the funeral, to come ONE day before the OFFICAL funeral home to HOST a private funeral behind my back, and charged them extra money when I had paid for the entire funeral arrangements and burial in FULL. I specifically spoke to the director and made it clear I did not want any of those family members there, and instead, they were allowed to visit my father one day before the official funeral itself. I found out about all of this because I had the family members who were not supposed to be there on social media, and on social media, they had posted photos of the Funeral home location, as well as the laminated memorial cards that I CAME OUT of pocket for. Below I will upload documents proving that I spent $3,168.
