      We paid Steele and Loeber for full construction of garage and concrete slab next to the garage. We were delayed throughout the whole process; and little to none communication with updates. After finally getting started; we were told that we had to change color of our siding to avoid another 6 week delay. During the inspection process, they were no shows twice and sent the wrong pple out another 2 times. Once complete we noticed that there were ************ coming through the roofing, keypad placed on the wrong side of the garage, over lap of trim with off color caulk used, gap between roof corner connections, siding lined incorrectly and loose ( which has actually slipped completely off track now,) staples used in door frame and not covered showing chipped paint, and this is just in less than 4 months since completion. After contacting them to come out to correct the mistakes, the run around started; it took over 2 months to get in touch with someone and still, we have a brand new garage with mistakes. We still have no answers; just a bunch of finger pointing.

      I have spoken to ************* on Several occasions, As well as going over to ************* home to speak to him about his concerns, We scheduled our Serviceman (***) to come over to ************* home and take care all of ************* Concerns, After the service was completed I personally called ************* to make sure everything was done to his satisfaction, He told me he was very happy with everything that was done and how good our Serviceman (***) Was.. As far as the pictures are concerned  I have to believe these pictures where taken before we went out and did the service, (AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES THERE IS NO SNOW ANYWHERE??? WE HAVE HAD SNOW FOR SOME TIME NOW), The Trim around the door he is referring to needs to be painted by the homeowner this was explained to him and it is on his contract,  The Key pad he is referring to that he claims is in the wrong spot, Nor sure who put it there our carpenters would never put it there unless someone told them to, As matter of fact when *** our serviceman was there *** commented that the key pad is in a strange place and he would be happy to move it 1(as it's about a 5 minute job)  ************* told our Serviceman No it's fine and that if he decided to move he would do it himself. 

      All roofs have nails going through them, When you shingle the roof the nails go through the shingle and into the sheathing, 

      His complaint that he had to change the color of his siding, Unfortunately the world the we live in has created a shortages of many items including building materials, We offered ************* the option to either pick out another color or wait until we received the color he originally choose, ************* decided to change the color.  His complaint of how long it has taken and lack of communication is a bit mind boggling, I have spoken to him on several occasions as well as others in our office. We have called his village on 3 separate occasions to schedule a final inspection, for one reason or another the village has not shown up, The village has blamed covid for lack of help, We tried to explain this to ************* but again he thinks it's our fault, We set up another final inspection on January 10th and tried to Call ************* to confirm this, He didn't answer his phone, (WE LEFT HIM A VOICEMAIL HE NEVER RETURNED OUR CALL), We have called the village 3-4 times  since the 10Th hoping to get a copy of the report the village has not gotten back to us, I'm not picking on this particular village as most villages are in the same boat, (OVER WORKED AND UNDER STAFFED)  

      I spoke to him as recently as 2 weeks ago reminding him that he still owes Steele & loeber $500.00 for the Construction of his Garage, His response was that he should be discounted for the time it took to complete his Garage,

      ************* was well aware of the time it takes to complete the Garage, We sent him a letter the same letter all of our customers recieve explaining the time it takes to complete the Garge from the time we receive the permit from that particular village, 

       

      If ************* still has services needed we will be happy to take care of them, He can call our office at ************* and we will be happy to schedule a time, after thge Service is completed his balance of $500.00 will be due.

      I am rejecting this response because: the response is inaccurate. We didn't speak to **** until multiple attempts were made to discuss the issues with the garage after build. The journey began with ***** and we gave our initial deposit of $6k to start the process, and then we started to have delays and lack of communication. The only reason that **** came to our property was because I made several calls to Loeber and Steele to get help from what I believed to be a trustworthy company; On one particular call **** asked Brain about the communication and ***** lied and said that we were told deadlines and responses that were never given. In ****'s response he made comments about the timing of the pictures; there are only 2 attached with snow- which are the most recent ones of the fallen siding. The concern should be that it has been 4 months since completion and 4 months of pointing fingers at who's at fault; **** did send a (Mr. **** out to do patch work to what suppose to be brand new garage. Why am I chasing a company to do what is right by the customer. NO CLUE. After sending the wrong village **** out 3 times; wasting my time not being thoughtful of the customer. I told **** and the receptionist the week of 1-10-2022 that I was not available for any run around attempts for a 4th building inspection. Loeber and Steele forced a scheduling with the village to come to my property and then left me a message with a day that was best for them. So after I had time to go to the  village and informed them about the SIDING COMING down now an inspection was set on my behalf and DENIED AGAIN by the village. **** is making comments about not paying a $500 balance; he fails to mention that we have paid a total of  $30,075.00. If he believes that these pictures shows a $30,075.00 job off top- then we have even more issues.

      FYI

      We called the village on several occasions ASKING for a final inspection, They sent out the wrong inspectors, We have been building for over 75 years We know what to ask for when calling for inspections, 

       

       

       

       

       

       

      We called the building department on several occasions asking for a final inspection, They sent out the wrong inspectors, After this happened we called the village and told them they sent out the wrong inspector the girl from the village said she wasn't why they sent out the wrong inspector, Again all of these villages are over worked and under staffed.  

       We will be more than happy to take care of the siding issues. He can call are office at ************ and we can schedule a time to come over and take care of siding, Once the service is completed the $500.00 balance will be due,

      He keeps referring to the $30,075 that he has already paid, We greatly appreciate that but the sale price is $30,575.00 leaving a balance of $500.00 that has not been paid yet, 

      When you buy a car you pay it in full, you buy a house you pay it in full, If there are issues the car dealer or builder will take care of the issues you may be having, same thing applies here.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      When you buy a car you don't give 30k first, you have the option to inspect it, test drive it, and see it for what it's worth before purchasing it. Same goes for a home, you get to examine it, have it appraised, and get an inspection done on it; then you give your hard earn money, because you made a good deal and a good buy. Unfortunately, I didn't have those options with Steele & Loeber;  I paid 30k before the work was done and  the job doesn't match the cost. If I could, I would take every nail, every screw, every board, and every piece of material- package it up and return it to Steele & Loeber for a full refund. My garage was not built with the 75 years of good quality and great business Steele & Loeber claim to be. It's been less than five months and my garage doesn't look like a brand new garage that I paid for since day one. WHY did I get treated with a patch work job; WHY did I not get the best workers that's kept Steele & Loeber in business for 75years; WHY does the village continue to come out and agree this garage is not at a 100% approval; I can't trust Steele & Loeber to do what's right. I have no trust in Steele & Loeber at this point.

      We will be more than happy to come out to the home and take care of the siding issue, If the home owner would like to call our office at ************ we will schedule a time to take care of the siding At the time of the service his $500.00 Balance will be due,  Or if the home owner would like to keep the $500.00 that is owed to us they may do so but there warranty will be VOID meaning they will need to take care of all  any any issues on there own.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I've accepted my garage for what it is at this point, also we're in midst of winter with freezing temperatures and crappy outdoor conditions. I'll take responsibility and look elsewhere for help on any problems that *** occur including the loose siding at this point. Steele & Loeber *** void my 1yr warranty and write off the $500 remaining balance, and this matter can be both closed and done with. Including village concerns, approval etc.. I the owner will coordinate with them for any finalization needed.
