- Service or Repair Issues
- Status:

The contract started on July 10th with ********************* a contractor from Nuvohaus Home Improvement **** When he came in he wanted us to sign Public Adjuster contract ( ****** *************** by ***************). When ********************* brought the contract it was already signed by *************** the public adjuster and it said 30% off the settlement check go to Public Adjuster but we did not sign the contract. Also the insurance company claimed that there is no public adjuster listed on the claim. Once we got the after we called the insurance ****** came to sign the work order 8/31/2023 he said we have to pay for the plywood but when the company tore down and fixed everything ****** told us we have to pay extra for labor and all different fees. He did not do the inside work but he claimed that he wanted that money too, also he is wanting the final depreciation check too. ****** is keep on changing the statements. He was threatening us saying he will go to court if we dont pay what ever amount he asks. He should not have take the full claim check because we did not sign public adjuster contract to pay 30% off the check to ***************. This company is cheating/tricking people by not explaining before we sign anything and not keeping their words. I hope no one will have to work with these ********************* and ***************. They are the worst to deal with.Business response

Dear BBB,
Thank you for contacting us for consumer compliance.
Upon reading the case summary, We, at Nuvohaus must make a strong refutation of some of the claims made by the homeowner.
1. "we did not sign the contract"
-> Page 2 was not signed but the last page(page 3) has been signed by the insured.(Attached the contract(1) paper signed on 7/10/2023)
2. "no public adjuster listed on the claim"
-> The claim was generated by ********************** and was represented at the property inspection.
3. "pay for the plywoods
-> We were supposed to get paid almost $1,990.50 for the plywood per WORK ORDER signed by the insured, but the insured paid only $880. (Attached Invoice(2), Insureds hand writing(3), the check(4) received after the job, and the Work Order(5)signed by the insured)
4. "not do the inside work"
-> It was agreed that the homeowner will take care of it w/ insurance pay as the amount was deducted from the personal check from the homeowner. (See again the Insureds hand writing(3))
5. "threatening us saying he will go to court"
-> Well, work has been done and the homeowner still owes an amount of $1,769.94 dated 11/28/2023.
6. "cheating/tricking"
-> Nuvohaus has been in the business for 10 years plus w/ excellent rating from BBB. WE DO NOT CHEAT or TRICK our consumers.
7. "pay 30% off the check to ***************"
-> The ** Agreement states so, but only when consumers do not use the recommended contractor.
The final resolution at Nuvohaus is to get the Work Order signed amount which is $1,763.94.
Best Regards
