Hello, I need help regarding a home restoration business that is invoicing me for services never approved or completed at my home. The initial incident happened the last week of December 2022. The sump pump in my home overflowed with waste water. I did my best to minimize the damage to the home and clean and dry any affected areas. I spoke with my insurance carrier and was told to get a restoration company to come properly disinfect and see what needed to be repaired and after 2 days Home Pride Restoration came. The guy said he would take a look and send an estimate to the insurance company. He sanitized the area. Without my approval he tore out carpet, part of my walls, and set up a fan. I asked for a list of services he thought he would need to complete, and he told me he would get me one. 2 months went by, and my insurance sent $ to cover the estimate that my insurance adjustor had created based on the current state of my home. My home is only 2 years old, and I was able to minimize the damage from the sewage water. The company had been calling my insurance daily and as soon as they found out I was sent $ for repairs they began harassing me for payment. I asked for a detailed invoice. After 2 weeks of asking they sent an itemized invoice. The invoice included over $2000 in charges for services never approved or completed. I spoke with my insurance and they told me to dispute the charges directly with the company. I tried and since then they have been Bullying me, threatening me, harassing me, a sub-contractor went through home and stole from me, tore up my house without approval and it's been this way for 3 months. I have tried disputing the charges with the business and the guy got angry threated me in front of my children, I had to ask him to leave my home. I am rejecting this response because: I have been nothing but honest regarding this matter. I have made multiple attempts to offer a more then reasonable payment for the work that was completed in my home. I have witnesses willing to make statements and have also included many factual documents to support my claim against home pride restoration. The only reason payment has not been made for the services is due to Home Pride and false claims of work being completed that was in fact never completed. Therefore it is on their part that anyfeeshave been added and not mine. I have been willing to make payment as soon as I recieve a corrected invoice of services actually completed at my home. Home prides refusal to provide a corrected invoice has left me no choice to make payment in this matter. To say I am being dishonest and accuse me of providing misleading information is defamation of character and is the reason I have reached out to the BBB inthe first place. My house is torn apart and this company is trying to bully me into paying for work thar was never provided. I have attempted to resolve this issue cordially. All I have asked is that I be sent a corrected invoice that states only services completed so I can pay.
