I had installed upgraded micro-inverters through Mr. Steve Olsen’s, Pacific Energy Strategies LLC, back in December 2019, and have a receipt stamped Paid on 26 Dec 2019. The system has been working flawlessly since installation 1.5 years ago. This system was purchased not leased. I’m currently in the process of selling my house, and already coordinated with a realtor on this system. On Monday, Steve called me on 17 May saying he needed to come out to my house and swap out the upgraded micro-inverters as he gave me non-programmed inverters instead of programmed inverters. After kindly replying to his terse email he responded that he needs to come out to take the $450 monitoring system. I’ve had this system for 1.5 years and for unknown reasons he’s trying to collect or take my components that I paid for. I fully paid for this system, and cannot understand why Steve first wanted the inverters and now the monitoring system. I do not Steve to call, email or come to my house.

Mr. **** is misunderstanding the situation., and rather than doing a due diligence he is taking the easier route to try to defame me and my company via this complaint.

Mr. **** contracted a partial system change that he wanted done in 2019 for tax credit purposes.   He changed 30 of his 48 microinverters.   And kept 18 of the old style microinverters.

The old style microinverters, the M190s, require a legacy monitoring system, the oval shaped "Envoy".    As part of our proposal we buy back this old Envoy for $450.     And we did buy back this Envoy and gave him a check for $450 which he cashed.    However, as a favor to Mr. ****, we let him hold on to the old style Envoy for the time being until the rest of the 18 old microinverters were also upgrade at which point the Envoy would no longer be needed.    Mr **** stated his intention to upgrade the remaining inverters in 2020.     So we did him a favor by letting him use OUR Envoy.

He did not proceed with the Phase 2 upgrade of the 18 microinverters.    Then in 2021 he told me he was selling his house and moving to the mainland.   This created another problem that I had not made **** aware of, that in order to meet his request for 2019 installation, we had to use I think 12 of the 30 microinverters were from our personal stock, and the rest were from the Enphase microinverter company special upgrade program in which they sell the new microinverters at half cost.    They are also derated to match the prior microinverter output so that no HECO or other permitting is needed.

We later in 2020 got the Enphase "program" microinverters, which we had intended to swap out for our full price inverters that we had used to meet Mr. ****s requested deadline of installation in 2019 which is required for the tax credits.   The intention all along was to install the "program" microinverters at  the time that **** proceeded with the Phase 2 18 microinverters.    Which he told us he would do in 2020 but never did.     So upon sale of the house, I was in the situation of losing several thousand on the micros installed, and also that he refused to pay back the $450 for the Envoy, nor did  he want to return the envoy, in fact in his communications of May 2021 he admits that he still retains the old Envoy and that it is working fine!!!!!

So we several favors for Andy ****, and rather than him taking the effort to understand the situation, he decided to just take pot shots.    He didn't even understand the difference between "Program" inverters (Enphase inverter bought under a special Program that Enphase offered at half price).   He carelessly thought that meant programmed or unprogrammed, in terms of software or firmware and that is not the case.

His requested action is that we don't contact him anymore, i.e. his requested action is not for us to fix something, his requested action is for us to stop trying to collect what is ours.    This is indeed insult on top of injury, and it's shameful that if someone cannot understand the situation, that he should have brought in his realtor or someone else that could understand.   None of this changeout to the proper "program inverters" was going to cost him a penny.   And now he leaves the situation with a possibility of having to change his NEM agreement with HECO, and possibility of City and County permitting process and fees.     This is a potential real mess that he could be saddling a buyer with.
