It has been a very bad experience from the start. I reached out to ****, owner of Tropical Builders *** and made an appointment so that we could get an estimate for a home renovation. First attempt, no show/no call. So I text him if hes coming and apparently he had a job during the appt time and said later afternoon. I waited and still no show/no call. I call him and hes still at the job and said tomorrow h*** come by after 5pm. Again, NO SHOW/NO CALL. I keep trying to call and text him asking if we can reschedule, unresponsive. Figured out that he ended up blocking my numberno idea why and when he was the one being unprofessional. Im glad that it worked out this way because I got out of paying and working with a business that would not have done good work. I dont recommend anyone going with Tropical Builders *** because this is the kind of bad service you will get.

My wife and I have gone into a contract with *********************** owner of Tropical Builders LLC. He started renovations on our home from 12/2022 as we have had the property vacant to have it completed by a promised date of 2/2023. We had unfortunately paid him the second draw for a total of $225,000. The home till this date is not completed. We have had to sub contract out as well as complete painting ourselves. When we have tried to work with him and have complained he has become defensive and has ultimately told us he doesnt know where the money for our home renovation has gone nor does he have the money to complete the renovation. The yard is filled with used construction material, we are unable to allow our children out in the yard to play of fear of injuries. There has been excuse after excuse of why he is unable to work on the home. If he has worked on it it has been rafter 10 pm which we have allowed in desperation to have it completed to at least have something done for the money already invested with this contractor. We have also found out he no longer has his general contracting license. ***************** has had us sign a contract under false pretenses and has taken money from us without completion of work and 10 months later will not and has not refunded money owed. We are filing this complaint as we also have written documentation, voice recording documentation, and witnesses to what we have homeowners have endured after hiring this company for our home renovation. We would like to also mention he has used mostly used materials on our home as we are finding many things breaking apart, and has argued with us on many occasions and lied about this when confronted. We would like to prevent ***************** from doing this to other hard working families, stop this manipulation, and falsely posing as a general contractor when he no longer has his license.
