I booked a vacation rental through VRBO for a unit managed by *************************** at Aloha Villas. I received a confirmation from VRBO on 1/5/2023 for the dates 12/25/23 to 1/4/24. Prior to booking I inquired about the rental and received a response with a quote and that the dates were available. Once booked through VBRO there was a notation in the messages section of my VRBO account on 1/6/23 that the above dates were added to ****** calendar and that the reservation was confirmed. It was with all of this information I was led to believe that our rental was booked. On 3/9/23 I reached out re: VRBO messaging to confirm our booking with her. We had only been charged $1091 for the booking, however, it showed in my VRBO account that everything was booked (as above). I made several attempts to reach her and she did not respond. Finally I tried via text message and she responded that she did not have us booked and that the dates were not available. I reached out to VRBO customer service who reached out to her for further explanation as she was not answering any further messages. On 3/16/23 I got a message that VRBO that our reservation was cancelled. I reached out to the host again to ask what the reason was-- why we had confirmation from VRBO but she did not ever have us booked. We have had other issues with VRBO bookings in the past and I wanted to simply know the reason so I can be aware of the same issue in the future. Nothing. No response. I would simply like a reason for why things didn't go through as it showed our booking was confirmed by VRBO but she never booked/confirmed it on her end.
