On Nov 19 2022, an employee of Takase ******************************* LLC (Takase LLC) replaced the torsion springs of my garage door. During the repair, there was a loud snap and one of the metal rods being used by the ******* launched across the garage and damaged my automobile. After the repair, the ******* took pictures of the damage to my vehicle and assured me that the owner would be contacting me. After the ******* left, I took photos of the damage as well as the odometer reading (476 miles), I contacted my insurance company and was advised that I didn't need to file a report until I heard from Takase LLC or its insurance company. No one contacted me.On Nov 23, 2022 I called Takase LLC to follow up on the issue. The owner was not available so I left my name and number with the employee who answered the phone. I still have not heard back from Takase LLC. I already took it to an ASE certified repair shop for an estimate. All I want is to have my car damage repaired by a reputable repair shop that is certified to restore my auto to the way it was when it was damaged with 476 miles on the odometer.

We have been working with him, trying to see what company will repair this issue

      Complaint: 18608130

I am rejecting this response because:

I have provided ******************** LLC with a good faith estimate that was completed by an ASE certified auto repair shop on 1 Dec 2022.  ******************** LLC scheduled an appointment to meet with me on 22 Dec 2022. He subsequently rescheduled it for 26 Dec. On 26 Dec, he arrived accompanied by his repairman who mentioned that the metal rod also hit the floor. The damage to my garage floor is consistent with that narrative. It during that visit on 26 Dec that Mr ******************** balked at the repair estimate declaring that it was "excessive".   I explained to him that the repair costs are out of my control and that the panel where the damage occurred houses sensitive electronic equipment that needs to be checked and recalibrated in order to function properly. He offered to make a "deal". Since then, no progress has been made and it is already 17 Jan.

I explained my predicament to Servco who recommended a reputable auto repair shop for a second estimate. I am willing to take more time off from work to get a second estimate. The problem is that repair shop charges $125 for estimates.

      Sincerely,

      ***************

We asked Mr. ****** if he could swing by *********** for 2nd estimate for repair but he said does not have the time for this? Please tell me what our next step, since we are going to help him repair this scratch on his car should we be using who we trust repairing car?Tell ** why here...

      Complaint: 18608130

I am rejecting this response because:

I already provided a written estimate from ****************. I also sent ******************** a certified letter informing him that I would be willing to get a second estimate at O'Sung which would cost $125 just for the estimate. It is unclear as to why Mr ******************** does not approve of O'Sung or Kuroda, both businesses are highly regarded in the community. He prefers ***********, a company I have not heard of. The people who recommended ******************** to me have not heard of *********** either.  At no time did I say I "did not have the time for this". If it were up to me, the repairs would have been completed by ****** back in Dec. It is worth noting that I have no history or connections with either Kuroda or O'Sung. I sent a text to ******************** requesting that we work through our insurance since we are already into our 3rd month with no resolution in sight.

      Sincerely,

      ***************

We asked him to get 2nd estimate with our repair shop but he said no time to do that? do you think this is unresonable to get 2nd opinion?

      Complaint: 18608130

I am rejecting this response because:

To be clear, I have no objection to getting a second estimate that has no ties to either ***************************** or myself. I provided a copy of a good faith estimate from **************** dated 1 Dec 2022 to ************ ********************* The hope was to get the damage caused by his employee to my vehicle repaired before the Christmas Holidays. My optimism was short lived as the estimate was rejected by Mr. *********************

Having heard nothing back, on 20 Jan 2023 I sent a follow up letter to Mr. ******************** asking if I should take it to O'Sung for a second estimate. In the interest of transparency, Mr. ******************** was informed that O'Sung charges $125 for the estimate alone. This offer to get a second estimate was also rejected by Mr. ********************* It is worth mentioning that both repair shops are highly regarded in the community and the dealership from which I purchased my vehicle had absolutely no reservations about either business.  On 24 Jan, Mr. ******************** indicated that he wanted me to take my damaged vehicle to his friend for an estimate.

We are at an impasse. I wish to take my vehicle to ******'s or O'sung, both highly recommended and respected. Mr. ******************** wants me to take my vehicle to his friend. On 30 Jan, I requested that we work this through our insurance companies since we are unable to reach a meeting of the minds. Thus far, Mr. ******************** has not provided his insurance company information nor has his insurance company contacted me. My auto insurance is through USAA.

      Sincerely,

      ***************
