Date: 8/02/23 on site sales from PurAir to elderly mother Complaint: PurAir salesperson has taken advantage of my mother, an elderly 91 year old woman. The man upsold her on 8/2/23 so that she could avoid having to buy $250 filter replacements for 10 years for her 2 units, by selling her replacement air purifying units and a replacement vacuum cleaner, all of which she does need. He did not explain in detail the transactions and took advantage of her age and nature to close his sale totaling $5,125.00. We have Ring video footage of his visit to her home on 8/2/23 where he convinces her to buy the new units so that she "won't have to see him again". I can provide the videos under separate email upon request, they are too large to upload to this portal.My elderly mother was unable to explain what she actually received for the payment of $5,125, could not locate the receipt, did not recall writing a check for the large amount, could not recall the salesman's name, and did not know the name of the company. These are signs that she has poor memory and was not able to navigate the transaction with a clear mind and experienced elder financial abuse.
