**************** botched a prolapse procedure that she was incompetent to perform. They let arrogance and hunger for money get the best of them. I took what I thought at the time was a credible animal institutions word and seven days after the procedure was performed, my sulcata tortoise died. The procedure was on Sunday September the 18th. On September 19th he had started with the significant bleeding. I made a phone call to the office and was informed that was okay as long as it wasnt profuse bleeding. I explained the bleeding was more significant than droplets . I even offered to send photos via email to show it but I was assured that this was normal he would be fine, (I was warned for clear discharge after proc. Not blood!)This is unacceptable, and I absolutely feel this is animal cruelty, malpractice, and incompetence. It is very clear that he suffered as a result of the procedure, the poor advice, and lack of care. As you can imagine we are devastated that he suffered I this way, and the loss of our pet is beyond words. He should have outlived me!After research, This procedure was done incorrectly Causing infection to spread and the tortoise to slowly die. If they would have taken two seconds or schedule a follow up his death could have been avoided. Tortoises are delicate creatures and pushing the tissue to hard causing bleeding or infection caused his death. When I reached out to them the employee for claims (***) was very cold and was just determined to avoid court and talk down to me. She eventually agreed that they should not have admitted he was fine without seeing him for a follow up and bleeding is never fine she also admitted that a claim or $2500 was fair until their insurance didnt cover it then they made up lies to avoid responsibility. She said they suggested further tests and believes underlying conditions. If that was the case, they would have made a follow up and not assured me he was fine without seeing him. He clearly wasnt fine, he died!Business response
