Having to put a loved one in a nursing home is already a hard decision. You figure that the administration and state make's sure that you have staff who loves the job and has compassion for patients. This is what the medical field is considered caring and compassion for patients. When I come in this facility at times it can smell so horrible. Another thing some employees have an attitude when you ask them a question about your loved one. Like if you were bothering them or they do not like the job. If you ask for wipes, napkins or anything you need for your loved one they look at you like you are crazy. If your loved one needs a diaper changed, they need to document it with ************* and what CNA did it. I walk in yesterday to visit my loved one and thank GOD I am always looking at her body and changing her and she has 3 big areas raw to the skin and it was not documented and then I get an attitude from the **** which has no good explanation of why her body is like that. Then is putting cream on her frustrated that we found this on her body, I asked her to leave the room as I will do it myself because now you are applying cream in areas that do not need it. Then as I am exiting the building, this same CNA wants to stop me and explain what happened. We pay for the care and so does the state, if you work at any Nursing Home, please consider each patient as if it was your mother, father or loved one. Give them the care you would do for your own family, and if you are in it for just a pay check it is the wrong place to be.
