I am writing to file a complaint against Butler Honda. I recently purchased a 2021 ****** ******* with 32,000 miles from this dealership on **** *** 2024, and have encountered significant issues with the sale that I believe constitute misrepresentation and deceptive practices. I was assured by a salesman that the TAVT tax and dealership fees would be included in the vehicle price of $18,991. The finance manager also confirmed this. However, I discovered that the fees were added separately to the financing document. Despite putting down a $7,500 down payment, I ended up financing around $15,000 instead of the expected $11,000. When I called to discuss this, the manager was dismissive and uncooperative. He told me anything that I would quote them on would be hearsay. I didn’t escalate the situation or even raised my voice though he brought up court serval times. I found an undisclosed service charge of $1,699. The dealership did not share the terms or benefits of this service contract, which I feel was added deceptively. Before leaving the lot, I took pictures to celebrate the newly purchased vehicle. Upon returning home, I noticed that the bumper clips on the vehicle were broken. Despite informing the dealership, they refused to address or fix the issue, citing the “as is” clause. The manager told me that I should had said something before I signed when they were throwing papers at me before closing. The dealership assured me that their financing options would beat any interest rates I could find elsewhere. However, they did not disclose the actual interest rate until after I had signed the contract. The interest rate I received was significantly higher than what I was led to believe. I received around 9% interest rate when I found 5.5% previous to visiting. I got pdfs of the contract papers and a recording of my conversation to the manager, but the files are too large. I can share those through ****** Drive links. Thank you.

All items on the contract where in clear view before the contract was executed. Customer was given ample time to look the car over before taking it. Pre-owned cars are sold As-is and are price accordingly.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. It seems as this company is in their right. I accept the response, and I will take my due diligence the next time when purchasing the vehicle to make sure that all maintenance such as an oil change and new tires is done properly before buying a vehicle or any damages such as an oil pan or body work. I will also not let future dealerships rush me into signing documents so that the employees can close on time. Thanks for your time and effort!

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

This issue was the Service writer making a commitment to returned car. Then she took the day off, and I was never notified. The next day I called and got in touch with her around 10:30. Service writer explained the issues with the software upgrade. Paid the bill, got number to order Navigation USB. The Service writer told me car was on the way at 10:30. About 11:45 I got text it was on its way. I called around 2:00 and it was still at Butler lot and I was told the keys were still there. The car arrived around 4. Service requested: Called for pick up and delivery and was told I would be called on Monday to arrange. No call so I called! -Engine fan at high speed -Sun roof guide was broken -Wanted the Navigation update installed Car was picked up and taken to the dealer. Got a call with the necessary. Approved the charges and car was to be returned Wednesday. Wednesday came and went with no contact & I called the next morning. Was told navigation would take 3 hours due to lack of software. I got the telephone number to order the USB. After hearing it was on it way a few times I called Service reached voice mail, called back for sales and left a message for the GM. Got a call back from the Service Manager at direction of the GM. He blamed all issues on the “girls” he supervises and he would take care of it! I asked a few other questions about quality of work Left another message for the GM. Matt and I spoke and said he had called. I had no record of his call so he texted me his call list that confirmed he had tried to call and I showed him my missed call list on my phone. His calls were there but were not identified in anyway as coming from Butler. Matt offered me a free service and I refused anything for free, I don’t mind paying for GOOD SERVICE. I do not remember discussing the Navigation upgrade with Matt since I already bought the USB. It Matt said he knew they had issues with the phone system but the owner refused to make any changes.

We are very sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused Mr. ******. I am happy to do whatever I possibly can to try and patch things up with him. We simply ask that Mr. ****** let us know what would remedy the situation for him. We strive to keep all of our customers pleased and for the most part do just that. We are not perfect, but we try.

I bought a car from this dealership in *** ****. I live in ******* and bought the car in Georgia. I have reached out to them multiple times in order to get the paperwork for a tag. The deal ship is now telling me they can’t get the title. Is it possible to sell a car without a title? What are my options since this dealership has been less than helpful

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I was sold this car and told that is was inspected by there mechanic and it was in good sound working order and it was not instead it was covered up with a temporary patch with JB weld so they did not have to replace the engine and replace it.

My fiancé and I bought a 2017 ***** ****** ***** from Butler Ford Honda here in ************* Georgia on ******** on my fiancé's way to work on ******* she noticed there were living cock roaches all in it! I immediately called and text the man who sold us the car with no response. As soon as I got off I went straight to the car lot and told them about the problem and that I just wanted my money back. They told me they couldn't do that but they would "fix the problem" I made sure to tell them the door panels and everything needed to be taken apart because I seen some coming from there. There was already damage to the car so we were scheduled to take the car back Monday for it to go to the body shop so they said they would keep it and make sure they got rid of them. They did put me in a rental. They called me on Tuesday and said it was ready. I get there and the manager tells me that they done whatever *** ***** told them to do 4 times and vacuumed all the dead ones out. There's NO WAY they treated the car because the same night after it got dark I went to check the car because of course at this point I'm paranoid and my fiancé works out of our car ******** ****** so I wanted to make sure She wasn't going to be taking them in other peoples *****s or ours for that matter and low and behold there they were just crawling on the seat and the console. We went the next day and bought foggers to do it ourselves. We never expected to see as many as we did when we fogged it! It was crazy! There's hundreds of all different sizes. It's nasty and embarrassing! I'm not looking to sue them or get anything from them other than the $10,000 cash we paid! It would take months if not longer to get this car roach free. We shouldn't be paying on a car that we can't even drive because it's a roach motel! They acted as if this was normal was said they done what they could! Again I'm not looking for a settlement or anything like that I just want my money back, rightfully so!

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/29) */ We treated the car as recommended. There was no signs after treatment. We told them to let us know if they saw anything else. We would have taken it to *** ***** to have them fix it. We would let them trade the car on another if they would like.

I went to Butler Honda to trade in my car and purchase a new one they had. After we finally came to an agreement on what price I wanted for my car and that I would go home and take all aftermarket parts off and put the stock ones back on myself, we were gonna start negotiating on the price of the new car. I gave them some info and I DID NOT want my credit run until after we came to an agreement. I NEVER signed any papers or gave them permission to do so. Then one of the sales managers gets involved and was having the sale person run back and forth relaying info instead of coming and talking to use directly, like he didn't really wanna be bothered with us. The sales manger then decided to change the original agreement we had agreed to and said he did not want my husband and I to touch or remove the aftermarket parts off of MY car and wanted a competent/ certified mechanic to do so. Which really ****** me off for them to refer to my husband as that when he builds ********* We have always done all of our own work on our vehicles and to be told "We don't want you to touch anything on the car", that like I said was still mine because no paperwork was signed, is very unprofessional. So then as we try to leave my husband demanded to have my keys given back to us so we could leave and they just looked at us while the sales kid tried to explain why we were leavening and they wouldn't give my keys back at first until my husband had to raise his voice and demand again then they finally gave them back to us. So we left and went home, at which that time I received an email from my credit monitor that said Butler Ford had ran my credit anyway after I left when I DID NOT give them my permission or written consent at anytime when we didnt get a car. Now I have a hard inquiry on my report because Butler Honda ran my credit. I have bought several new cars from other Honda dealerships and have never been treated so poorly and I have told everyone I know to steer clear of them.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/07) */ All we asked was to have our tech do the work on swapping parts. We did have a completed application on file. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/01/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I want the hard inquiry removed off of my credit. I never signed any paper work or gave permission to run my credit until a deal was made, which it was not. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/01/11) */ No further action will be taken. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/01/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Not satisfied, I will be contacting Corporate Honda. I have had very great experience with several other Honda dealerships in Georgia, this one being the worse ever.
