This is my second complaint with this company. As of today, I have ******* invested in monthly premiums in AFC. My built in microwave oven stopped working this week. I filed a ticket with AFC, they replied with a link to ********** for a "Floor Model" microwave oven that lists for ******, before taxes, delivery and installation. They told me they would reimbuse me ****** when I send them the receipt FOR MY PURCHASE. I am 72 years old. I can not bring an appliance home and install it!!!! That is why I am paying a company for this. The total bill at ********** to purchase THIS microwave oven, have it delivered and installed will be ******!! The same one they sent me a link for. ****** MORE than I will be reimbursed for. WTH??? I have to wait for my SS check to even order this microwave oven. (Hopefully, it will still be available.) SMH I DO NOT RECOMMEND AFC.Review from Bernetta G

Total rip off!!! My third disappointment with this company. First of all, AFC referred me to a "painting" company for repair of my refrigerator!!!! Not being comfotable with this, I decided to hire my own company with their approval. The repair company quoted a price with several things needing repair/replacement, i.e. defrost heater, thermostat, sensor, fan motor and icemaker. Beause of the number of items reported, I decided to purchase a new refrigerator. I submitted the requested paperwork to AFC supporting my decision, as well as the recommendation from the repair company, and receipt for new refrigerator only for AFC to say they needed more detail for repair of the fridge. The repair company feel they have provided sufficient informtion and have no further obligation to me because I am not asking for repair. I am stuck with getting ZERO because AFC is unwilling to consider any amount of what they could give me for a new fridge without more information regarding repairing a fridge I no longer have which was in excess of $538 and climbing!!!!Review from Vickie B

This is a scam company. I have been paying for almost a year, platinum package. My washer was leaking, the tech recommended replacing 3 gaskets. There is a $75 fee each time you file a claim. AFC called and said they would give me $278 towards repair or replacement. I paid that to them in 2 months, then why would i need them? The washer is a huge HE front load unit. The adjuster said they valued my washer at $59. But were allowing me the $278. That was not my understanding, they were to repair or replace. The tech they sent out had NO company ID, arrived in a mini van, no company uniform, nothing showing they worked for the company. I understand that it's hard for a new company to get started. Is it to hard to get a shirt or go to office supply to get an ID made? Is this the kind of sub contractor they are using? I am so angry with this company.Review from Daniel S

Not off to a great start! I purchased a platinum plan in October 2023 and made my first service call January 22, **** to repair the refrigerator freezer ice maker. Three days later I have not received a call from technician to provide service. When I called AFC back, they said they needed more information that they have not bother to contact me for. I provided the same information that was provided in the initial service call and the representative says the repair may not be covered. This is without sending a tech out to diagnose the issue and is only speculation of what could be causing the issue. Worst service I've ever received so far!Review from Maggie C

This is a scam. The seller of our home paid $500 for a year warranty with them. I have tried to file 3 claims- for the refrigerator, lock, and washing machine- which were all supposed to be covered. They denied all three claims for one reason or another. Do not use them.Review from Darrell P

I purchased the platinum plan with AFC. Had my 1st claim made this week. I had an electrical issues, in short outlets in two rooms went out. They sent a text out to see what the issue could be. When they called me back they told me they do not cover the tech doing further diagnostic on my home because he states he could not determine what the issues was. But you say you cover electrical. Today I canceled my plan. They offer a service but truly do not cover electrical. Needless to say I paid the $100 deductible and still have no idea what the issue is. DO NOT WASTE YOIR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. It is cheap for a reason they cover nothing.Review from Chad J

AFC is a complete scam! They have no intention of repairing anything. I paid for three different properties for months and they denied everyone of my service requests except one, which I then had to pay the plumber for, because they never paid him. It takes them weeks to find a service company that will work for them and then they deny the claim any way. It costs the monthly fee, plus $125 for the technician to just come out and look at it, even if there is not a problem or they cannot fix the issue or if they refuse to fix the issue. It may be good if you have all new appliances, but if anything is older than 3 years, they won't touch it. At least in my experience.Do not get scammed by them!Review from Nishant S

This company has to get their act straight with regards to their customer service. ******************** of all, they will not cover for anything as per their contract. Second, they will try their best to find excuses for not covering and finally when you cancel their contract, they will harass you in issuing your refund. Not to mention they have a steep cancellation fees as well. Avoid at all cost and find a better business instead of throwing your well earned money.Review from John M

Without reading through all the other reviews posted, in short do not use this company due to a lot of fine print. Weve used other companies in the past and had good experiences but recently tried AFC with both our properties. They have extreme limitations in which they claim other competitors do as well but not to their extent. Therefore, you end up with a denial after one or two potential, minor claims. And when you cancel they prorate any paid claims you have done (amount they paid ontop of your deductible). I am floored how a company like this is able to operate.
