I stayed in this hotel one night. I asked the clerk for a room on the ground floor near the exit. He put me in a room 1/2 way down the hall (50 yards from the exit) on the first floor. I walked outside to smoke every time I smoked a cigarette. I triple checked the room for any issues before leaving about 10:50 AM the following morning. It was a bit tossed, but clean. I had no doubt that I had left the room in as good or better shape than when I got to it. I checked my online banking app about an hour later, and I saw a new $100 charge from this Comfort Inn. I called and spoke with the clerk. I explained to her that I absolutely did not smoke in the hotel room. That I walked outside to the rear exit to smoke every time I smoked. That if the housekeeper smelled smoke in the room, It may have been from my clothes, but that I did not smoke in the room. The clerk understood me, but she said "The owner "Sonny P****" will have to reverse the $100". That he will be in the hotel tomorrow morning between 10-12. To catch him then. I called the next morning, but whoever answered said Sonny was not available. That only Sonny can reverse the $100. I ask for them to have Sonny call me when he gets a chance please. He never did. I called 5 times, and went by the hotel two extra times before the clerk relayed a message from Sonny on the phone that he would return the $100 to my card immedi****y. This was three days after my checkout and a Saturday. I waited patiently, but never saw the charge reversed. I then called my bank that Tuesday, and they initiated a dispute for the $100. I spent 10 hours trying to get this hotel owner to return my $100. He never returned any of my phone calls. Was not available the two extra times I went back by in person. The room was sub-par. The breakfast was not out. So, 10 hours of my time at say $20 an hour = $200 of my time Sonny wasted by stringing me along for 2 weeks about a bogus $100 smoking in room fee.
