On July 31st I purchased a puppy from Petland, I was misled and told by staff and manager ****** that the puppy was in good health, came from reputable breeder and checked on by veterinarian. The puppy was stated to have a health warranty. Upon bringing the puppy home the puppy had diarrhea. When the puppy was brought to the vet (My ******** Kennesaw) on August 9, 2023 the puppy was diagnosed with canine cough The puppy was placed on antibiotics, Petland was notified about the diarrhea and the cough and they stated they would start a claim and someone would contact me within ***** hours. On August 12th the puppy diarrhea now had lots of blood. However I was instructed by Petland staff to finish the antibiotics and see if it remedies the problem as I awaited contact from claim department. The week of August 13th, they called me a left a message and because it was an unknown number my phone sent it to voicemail. I immediately called back, left a message for them to contact me back. The voicemail stated that I would be contacted within 48 hours if not sooner. I was not, I had to contact Petland and the claim number twice to get the claim representative to even call me back. On August 19th the puppy was seen at the vet for a follow up visit to see how the antibiotics worked, the ****** diarrhea was tested and the puppy was positive for Giardia, a contagious parasite. Additionally, the puppys canine cough was also still present. The puppy medication for canine cough was switched to more powerful antibiotics. The puppy was also given medication for the Giardia. The puppy was given another follow up visit date on August 26th. Finally additional testing was done because puppy not responding to any medications. Puppy was found to have several viral and bacterial illnesses two of which are fatal. Petland claims refused to take animal back, give a replacement nor did they even lower the price of the sick puppy. My child started vomiting with fever and awaiting results.
