      I am filing this complaint against Mak Beauty Institute South LLC. The beginning of March I went to enroll into the Master Cosmetology courses, I met with *******************************/********, discussed payment for items needed in order to begin classes, and discussed the schedule, along with, the duration of the courses. ******************** received a payment of $2000.00 via Zelle and advised that the director will order the books and kit. On the fifth day I contacted ******************* to let her know I am unable to attend class due to it being a financial burden, and requested my funds to be refunded to me. ******************* refused to refund my money back because she said she had ordered the digital book and kit.I never received the kit or had access to the book and classes had not started. I contacted the owner of Mak Beauty Institute who is **************************. ************** stated the school policy states that students have 30 days to withdraw from school and receive a full refund minus the $100 application fee. *********** stated I am due back $1900 of my $2000 deposit that I gave to ********************************** on March 1, 2023.When I informed ******************* of this, she stated that *********** is not her motherand she is not refunding the money. ******************* stated that I can get the kit and sell it on social media to retrieve my money.I am going back and forth with *********** and *******************, *********** who is the owner of the school stated on March 30th that I am due my $1900 back, *********** stated that I could go to the school next day which would be March 31st to retrieve the funds or ******************* can send via Zelle which would be quicker, however ******************* who is the licensed agent stated that if I call or come by the school that a restraining order will be placed against me.As of today April 5, 2023 I have not heard from ******************* nor received my funds.

      At this point we can do anything to help you, we didn't receive money from you. Our beauty school located in ******* ** and we are separate business. 

      You can file magistrate ***** small claim. Send an email to school about your case and request refund policies.

      I understand that *******************************/******** received funds at the Mak Beauty Institute South LLC. However, according to the Secretary of State these schools have the same owner. I have followed protocol and I understand the frustration but I just want the $1900 that is due to me.

      I went to the salon on Friday July 22 I called at 915 am that morning And they told me to come in for a consultation and I ask what they charge for hair extensions she told me they start at 150, so i go in have the consultation the owner *********************** infos me she cant do the extentions bc my hair was blonde and had red underneath, so she said lets do a color corrector on ur hair and Ill go ahead and get online and find some hair in ur budget which was $300, so I ask her before she did anything can I make a payment online so my boyfriend called and made a payment! Now this payment was for 245 dollars what she quoted me and told him on the phone, she said she wa going to get online and find some cheaper extensions, well when the girl gets finished doing my hair they bring out these blonde extentions she found that she could do for 150 dollars more! My hair is still the same color underneath as it was when we started so I decided I couldnt afford that, so I told her I couldnt well then she couldnt do a refund bc I didnt have the card number so my husband had to call and give the number once again! I just want my hair fixed I wanted hair extensions and she refused! But all of a sudden she comes up with exactly what I wanted that she didnt have at first when we were done!

      The first set of extensions she was offered for the $150 were clip ins and she refused those. The more permanent extensions are $150 per box and she would have needed 2 boxes plus extra for installation. She was also advised to wait on getting extensions because her hair was not quite long enough. $150 of the $245 was refunded back to her husband/boyfriend so she was only charged for her highlights and not the extensions.

      I am rejecting this response because: she gave him the quote on the telephone for everything bc I told her that he was calling to make the payment and thats what she figured and that was including her finding my hair she already had! But wanted to charge me more knowing I already made the payment, its false advertisement on ur prices online

      We uploaded the Customer agreement and Statement release that the customer signed. It states that we do not offer refunds. It also states that the only service she was expecting was highlights that day. I also uploaded both receipts. The original price quoted and the refunded amount of $150 for the extensions that we did not do. The remaining $95 was for the highlights and toner that the customer did get.
