On 2/8, the packers showed up. Note, I had already packed roughly 1/3 of the home and they were there to finish the packing. There were 3 individuals that showed up in a 26 moving truck. One of the packers that showed up smelled of marijuana and appeared under the influence. The following are the charges from the invoice that would have been mitigated had they used my materials:? Qty 3 large boxes: $21 ? Qty 5 dish packs: $120.00 ? 1 bundle of packing paper: $35 ? Shrink Wrap: $43.? Total: $219.00 There was a third individual there that was not required and not included in the original estimate of 2 packers. Per the hourly rate in the estimate, the price for 2 packers would be $422.50, but I was charged $625.00.After the packers had left, my phone conversation with the manager resulted in a verbal confirmation that I should not have been charged the additional $202.50 for the third individual and the materials would be discounted when the loading crew arrived the next day to confirm the materials were there. For the move date, they did not arrive at the previously agreed to time of 8 am. Upon calling, I was informed that someone with Black Tie had made a mistake and moved my morning appointment to the afternoon. The movers did not arrive at the house until 12 PM. They took 5 hours to pack the below listed materials. Due to the time these employees were taking, I decided to not move additional items in the home and told them they were done. I am having to personally move these items and incur more expenses.The Black Tie team lead that performed the packing on 8 Feb had stated multiple times that due to the limited amount items to move, it should take 1.5-2 hours to fully load up the truck. This estimate included the items that were ultimately not moved in addition to the aforementioned list.After packing, they left the location, the truck finally arrived 2.5 hours after it left the apartment, and there was no explanation given for the significant delay. The truck was unloaded in 1.5 hours. He also brought me outside to see where the crew had broken the solid oak kitchen table. Total elapsed time from when they arrived to start on an already packed apartment was 9 hours. For comparison, I have received the following quotes from companies in the area to move the materials that were done (note, this does not include packing and is representative of the 9 hour day on Friday, Feb 9):? Big Heart Moving:o Best case: 1 hour to load, 1 hour to unload, 20 minute commute o Worst case: 3 hours to load, 30 minute commute, 3 hours to unload Based on the actual unload time of 1.5 hours, and the quotes being consistent between load and unload times, it is with-in the margin of error to have assumed the load time should have been 1.5 hours instead of the actual 5 hours. Additionally, since it took myself leaving from the same location to the new location only 20 minutes, that should have been the commute time. Total time would then be 3.5 hours.
