On 2/17/24 I went for an initial massage. I was talked into getting a membership. Before I signed anything, I made sure to ask the front desk clerk about cancelation if needed. I was told I could either cancel or put the account on hold at any time in the 12 month period. That same day an issue arose that I needed to cancel so I called and spoke with the same front desk clerk and asked to cancel. She said she would have her manager call me and it would be cancelled. She asked the reason for canceling and I told her financial and she seemed to pry for more information that I wasn't willing to give. The manager called me and did the same asking why exactly I wanted to cancel. Uncomfortable with the interaction, I still said financial. I made sure to ask that no more charges would come from my account and I was told no, so I thought the matter resolved. Today 3/19/24 I found a pending charge of $75 (the monthly fee) again taken from my account. I called the Massage Envy in Austell today to ask why it was taken from my account when it was cancelled last month. I was told the manager was on vacation and not sure when the matter would be resolved. At 12:38 pm, the manager ****** called and was extremely combative and unprofessional. He told me today that I couldn't cancel for financial issues, I could only cancel for medical reason, which was the first I'd heard of it. He said I needed a note from my doctor on a medical reason as to why I couldn't receive massages. I advised him that would be a HIPPA violation as I am not willing to give them any of my medical information. He proceeded to tell me it was in the contract but I was never informed of any cancelation stipulations after 3 different conversations regarding my cancelation request. He sarcastically ask if I recorded the converaation. I had to ask him 5 or 6 separate times to not speak over me. He was extremely combative and unprofessional and has lost a customer indefinitely. He refuses to refund my $75.
