You can see in the contracts I obtained permission to use the Augusta Facility. I later found that they created a whole new contract with higher rates and extended term on a contract with a digital signature that I did not sign. Please compare the signatures on both contracts. They voided my old contract and created the new one. The second contract is not a valid contract and they have placed me in collections.Initial Complaint

I initially informed MAXfitness clerk after my first workout after the contract 2 day later. I was told at that time she did not have the documents to cancel but to sign the log. I did. It was well within my 7 day grace period. I also sent an email to ***** ***** stating the club was simply not for me and to cancel me as well. I fully expected this had happened. I then go over my bank statements and notice they are still charging me. I then sent another email to Mr.***** in which he replied it would be sent to the team. I contacted my bank showing them the emails and not to process anymore payments from Maxfitness and they stopped. Today I get a call asking for payment because they could not charge my account. Unbelievable. They have been charging me over a year erroneously. I want to be fully refunded from August 2022Initial Complaint

I originally signed up for a gym membership with ***** Gym that was previously located at this location. Shortly after I signed my contract with ***** Gym, the company changed to Max Fitness. I never agreed to be a member of Max Fitness. I travel for work and require a gym that has more locations nationally so I can utilize the gym. I reached out to Max Fitness and they are still attempting to collect a years worth of membership even though I have not utilized the facilities since the change happened.Initial Complaint

***CREDIT CARD STOLEN, SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS WITH NO WARNING***** I had my credit card info stolen in Jan, a week after ****** ****** so I went around and updated my new card info with other subscription services. When I joined this gym, it used to be a ****** So, I called ***** to give them my new card information. No one had informed me in any way that the ***** gym in Augusta had been bought out by MaxFitness. Therefore, it was unbeknownst to me that I was not autopaying my gym membership as before. MaxFitness in Augusta, GA did not CALL (apparently they just updated to a new computer system and were not reaching people by phone? what?), they did not EMAIL, they did not send a LETTER through the mail to let me know I was behind on payment. They just sent my bill to collections with no warning. Well, actually here's the fun part- they claim they did send letters...to an address that does not exist. They took down the WRONG address when signing me up, so they sent however many letters to a NON-EXISTANT ADDRESS. So, now I am literally paying for this mistake made by woefully inept management. Not only did they not reach out to me, but when I called them last month to see about transferring my membership to the ***** in Evans, they mentioned NOTHING about an overdue balance. They told me my membership was cancelled, that it had run its course and I had completed my contract. So, imagine my suprise when I get a phone call from collections demanding $600. They sent a $600 bill to collections, which they are not retrieving or negotiating with me on. By my calculations, I would have owed $300 for the 10 remaining months in my contract. I would have been MORE than happy to pay my bill, had I known I was not doing so! I tried speaking to Brooks the manager twice, but he is "working out" right now. Have a good workout Brooks.Initial Complaint
