7/5/22-7/11/22. Order # ****-0017 i/a/o $17,833.32. This is in regard to an interstate move brokered by ******** of NetMove in conjunction with Wheaton World Wide Moving. We packed some of our things but these issues strictly relate to items packed by the mover. The price seemed high compared to our three previous interstate moves, but we wanted a dedicated truck for the move since this is where most of the damage occurs. During the walk through, *** assured us several times that all of their interstate moves use dedicated trucks. Instead of a dedicated truck, our things were loaded onto two small trucks, driven to *******, off loaded and reloaded onto another truck. A lot of our things were damaged. *** also assured us that all of our pictures, mirrors and wall hangings would be carefully wrapped. He quoted and charges us for 17 mirror cartons, none of which were used to pack these items. They were bundled in brown paper and randomly shoved onto the truck as was evident during unloading. Also, none of these bundles were assigned inventory numbers which prevented us from being able to make a claim for these damaged items. The situation was the same for our books which *** said would be carefully packed. No cushioning paper anywhere, all the boxes arrived smashed. In one box, they dropped the iron on the bottom, no paper to cushion and filled the rest of the box with a clothes drying rack, an ironing board, two front door wreaths, a floor lamp and shade, a table lamp and shade and other miscellaneous items, none wrapped. *** also assured us he was going to send his best packer/driver *****. After ***** prepared the household descriptive inventory, he stood in front of us and told us that our things were very nice and did not mention any damage he noted. At the end of a very long day, we signed the paper work and did not notice that next to EVERY item, ***** noted it as damaged in some way. They damaged A LOT of our things, many items made it through unscathed.
