Here is the response from Debstoppers on 11/24 after I filed: claim # ******** Client filed her bankruptcy with The Semrad Law Firm in June of this year. She changed jobs during the case, went through an eviction proceeding, and changed her mind multiple times as to whether or not she wanted to keep her currently broken vehicle. She refused to sign off on her new budget because it included the fact that she wanted to buy a new vehicle and get rid of her old car. Her case will be confirmed on the 29th if she just signs off on the re-corrected budget that was sent to her. Here is the response today 11/29/2023 The judge continued your case because the ******** ********** of ******* filed a claim a week ago that I didnt see. Luckily is shows all your taxes are filed but since you need to pay it back in full the trustee wanted to review so we could make sure your plan doesnt run over 5 years (the maximum allowed by the bankruptcy code). (CLEARLY STATED IT WAS NOT SEEN OR AN OVERSIGHT ON SEMRAD LAW THIS IS THEIR PROBLEM NOT MINE) TOO MANY EXCUSES From my calculations it will NOT run your case past 5 years so on December 6 I expect the judge to confirm your case. ***************** The Semrad Law Firm, LLC Phone: ************ Fax: ************ Again, they are not truthful and prolong things that should not and try to fault the paying client. I need this case resolved and stop all the procrastination. This is all Semrad Law because they are currently in an active bankruptcy and the owner and attorney license has been suspended. No one answers calls or emails unless you blast them on BBB or social media. They have interns that sit at the desk when you stop by the ******* office on 111th Western who listen to phone calls and make up excuses for why the attorney is not responding to emails/calls.

DebStoppers assigned **************** to file for bankruptcy for me. I was advised I qualified for chapter 13, based on my debt & a monthly payment via trustee of $1300. It would be deducted directly from my payroll $650 (twice monthly). I also told them I had already negotiated with my mortgage company to restructure my loan, reducing my monthly mortgage payments to by $200 a month, and my mortgage shouldnt be included with my bankruptcy filing. I completed the required credit counseling, made my initial payment for their services, and they initiated garnishments directly with my payroll. The deductions weren't set up correctly, and was $100 short every month. I had to log into the trustee's website to pay an additional $100/month. Unbeknownst to me, my mortgage company forwarded documents directly to ****** (as required by the bankruptcy) with instructions to have me accept the final terms for loan restructuring. It was delivered to them and sat on someone's desk for weeks, and my mortgage company cancelled by restructuring. They didn't even notify me that they received correspondence from the mortgage company. I had to call and beg the mortgage company to reinstate it, resulting in $200 a month tacked back on to my previously reduced monthly payment. The mortgage company sent it to them again, this time with me tracking the progress, and i still had to reach out to ask if it was received. After confirming they received it and asking them to email a copy to me so that I could execute it, I was advised that the original monthly payment I was quoted of $1300 for bankruptcy case was incorrect, and was actually $1800, which I was never going to be able to afford. I was then told my case would be dismissed, but they would not refund me the money they'd taken - to do absolutely nothing!! I am out well over $5000, and can expect the creditors to begin pursuing me again. They still havent stopped or refunded the payroll deductions, and have stopped responding to my emails.
