Member# ********* - GA's Own has changed their website and since that time, I have been unable to make an online payment. Their system says unable to authenticate user and to call customer service. I did call customer service just before my due date and the rep refunded the called payment assistance fee. It happened again the next month. I was able to make a generic payment after googling how to pay my loan. It was 10 days late. They charged me a late fee. I did the same payment method the next month - minus their late fee. I am not paying a late fee when it's their system complicating the process. I received an alert that GAs own has now reported me 30 days past due for not paying the late fee!!!!!! On top of that, I cannot access my account using the ulterior method. I still receive the same error message when I log in. I was forced to call customer service to make a payment and the rep said she cannot take payment over the phone, I can only make transfers from GAs own accounts. i do not have a bill paying account with GAs Own. I have had this vehicle loan since 2/23 - why are their suddenly all of these issues receiving my money? I am so frustrated, I have no way to make my regular loan payment and I am being reported 30 days late on my credit report for a LATE FEE that I have had to spend what equates to hours online and on the phone to avoid. Someone please remove the "30 days late" and allow me access to my loan so I can make a payment!!!Business response

Dec 2022: My daughter and I purchased a new 2022 ****** Corolla at the Tifton Ga dealership for $29,085. Since my daughter would be the driver, she provided proof of auto insurance for the paperwork as required. The loan was through Georgias ******** Tifton branch, which the dealership has clearly dealt with many times.Feb 2023: Georgias ******** added $5,235 to the loan balance for insurance even though the car has coverage. We were not aware they had done this as we never received any kind of notice or telephone call that there was a problem, or if we could provide proof of sufficient insurance coverage. Dec 19, 2023: ********* again added $5,235 to loan account. My daughter had switched insurance companies and this bank was as the lienholder. The company said they were provided the insurance coverage information. Clearly, this was not there first dealings with this bank. But now the monthly payment went from $475 to $923 a month, a payment that as a single mom, my daughter just cannot afford. The insurance agent resent the information and my daughter also sent proof of coverage. She submitted a form that she received from the Tifton branch to send to the Atlanta headquarters requesting this added cost be reversed and the payment go back to $475. It has been two months and still no reply yet. Payments for the original $475 amount were made for March and April. We are getting calls for the difference between the $923 and $475 now. The balance now is up to $33,409 even after paying on it all this time. If the added costs are not removed and the payment put back to the original, we will have to return the vehicle.Business response

I have had a boat loan with this company for 8 years and have never been late in paying them. I did not receive another coupon book at the beginning of this year and assumed that since I had been paying more than the agreed upon monthly payment, that I was ahead and the loan was coming to the end of it's term and did not receive any notice either through mail or email that I was late or in default of my loan. Next thing I know, on February 7th, 2024, they came to get the boat, I immediately got on the phone to clear things up and paid what I owed which was one month plus a $50 fee. They took the boat anyway, the tow company gave a fake business card on where to call to get my things off of the boat. Next I was told that my payment was rejected and that someone would be in contact with me. I received a letter two days before it expired saying that I could send in the paperwork to ask for a public sale/auction instead of a private one. Got that in, finally after many many calls I spoke with "Sai" on March 8, 2024. He of course could not provide me any loan info as to what amount that I had paid over 8 years and what was left on the loan. He gave the impression that I was on the loan with another person and had more than one boat. He promised to look into it and email me with his findings and call back. He still has not called me back and will not return my calls. He gave me another number to call in regards to getting my personal belongings off the boat and they will not return my calls either. I need to speak with someone that can give me some real answers. Thank you. Oh, and I also had a savings account with them that is now showing $5.00 balance. "Sai" was supposed to give me the reason on my approximately $800.00 balance that is missing. I need some straight answers. The balance in my savings was more than my boat payment ($429.40) of which I have been paying anywhere from $450. to $500. each payment to get it paid off faster. Thank you again.Business response

I am a Consumer who has been ignored by a financial institution who has also violated the Truth in Lending Act as they are required to comply with. The collection department of Georgias Own Credit Union is furnishing falsely misrepresented account #**** (opened April 30 2015 and closed 6/2016) as owed, updating a fictional account( they closed) ********************** card debt as owing them a charge off to two of my consumer reports after receiving 62 verbal, written and online disputes. My many requests to delete or validate in proper form the re-aged account that is causing me personal injury and business credit denials, increase to insurance rates, and embarrassment for a alleged delinquent payment that they charged off seven years ago however it is updated monthly as if it is an open account that is reporting with a maximum possible accuracy required by the ***** Georgias own credit union refuses to comply with 15 USC 1692g as well as the Georgia Statute of Limitation. I can not understand why Georgias Own Credit Union reported this derogatory account without my written consent. The *** requires charge offs to be filed as income, but does not require income information to a consumer credit report. Fair Credit Reporting Act does not require income to be reported to a consumer credit file at anytime. FDCPA does not require a debt collector to furnish data to a consumer report that is not validated by 15 USC 1692g. This NCUA account is parked in my consumer profile as its evaluated as debt ******* and violate the Gramm ***** ****** Act. This false data should be deleted from my consumer reports immediately.Business response

On 3/1/2024 I went to Georgia's Own Credit Union to get information about their construction loan. I was informed that I needed to open an account with them, to which I consented. No one told me there would be a hard pull on my credit report until a few days later when I got an alert that my credit history was pulled, which led to a 3-point deduction from my credit score. If I knew that was going to happen, I wouldn't open the account. I am in the process of buying a house; I can't afford to lose any points on my credit. I need this adjusted!Business response

Upon reviewing my account on 1/24/24, I noticed that my account was inaccurately charged an overdraft fee in the amount of $35 dollars. The account number is ********. This has happened several times with this credit union, and they usually correct the error. However, this time this did not occur. I sent a message via the website and was met with dismissiveness and combativeness from ******** *****, ******* that was SUPPOSED to assist me. I advised her that I was charged an NSF fee although the funds were in my account. The screenshot of my account that I am attaching shows that I available funds to cover the $319.93 transaction. She said that *********** "attempted" to withdraw the funds on 1/22, which was a bank holiday, but was allegedly unsuccesful because funds were unavailable. If this was a one off situation I wouldn't push the matter, but as show in the screeenshots that I have attached, this has happened on both my checking and credit card accounts. Times are hard for almost everyone, and at this point I do not have an extra $35.00 to throw away due to a computer error.Business response

I have been the victim of bank fraud TWICE within the last three months related to savings accounts that opened in ****. I am seeking the return of $7130.30; $7080.20 balance prior to $50.00 direct deposit. on 12/29. The first incident occurred on 9/27/23. Georgia's Own has refused to return $1,000 of my funds because they advised it was ********* day policy that I was not aware of. On 12/18, they returned $6,080 and recommended I close my accounts that I have had opened for 31 years. On 12/27, fradulent activity began on my NEW account; .05, .04, .09, 1,000.00, 1,000.00; 12/28: 20, and 12/29: 200.00.I am concerned the fraud is occurring with the help of employees. This is a savings account with no ATM card. All withdrawals from my accounts have occurred in person at a GA's Own location however the withdrawals and fraud is occurring by external transfers ****** and ****************** Georgia's Own Credit Union does not have ANY safeguards in place to support detecting fraudulent activity. I am rejecting this response because:
I have received two obviously cases of fraudulent withdrawals from my old and new accounts and Georgias Own has not taken any precautions to alert me of the activity, block Acorns from future transactions, nor fully refunded my hard money. Prior to the recent fraudulent transactions, I had been a proud and satisfied customer since ****. I do not feel valued nor do I feel my money is safe with this banking institution.
Sincerely,

I was told to bring in the total amount that was due from overdrawn account balance into the office on Friday, July 7. I went by the branch on Thursday, hoping to get a fee taken off before paying the amount in full from what I was told so I left the branch to buy time to see if they would take the fee off before making the payment and to start time to make the payment on that Friday when I arrived on Friday to make the payment after the fee was not taken off, the teller stated that my account was closed.
