We understand there may be some confusion as to the nature of our business.  We offer private financial investigation services. Our office creates summary reports for clients that help them determine how to proceed. We are not a collection agency. We do not offer collection services. RE: 1. To obtain a statement, we do our best to reach the individual responsible for the returned item by contacting any available acquaintances or relatives if the individual cannot be reached personally. 2. While discussing a returned financial instrument with an individual we may share the laws pertaining to the returned item within their state. There are no implications made, only facts stated. 3. A request for no further contact must be submitted in writing. Once the request is received it will take up to 14 business days to process. 4. There are no bankruptcy records regarding the business this claim is being researched against. (The claim in question is being processed for a business, not an individual.) *One additional call was made seeking the Bankruptcy case information a voicemail was left requesting this information.

      Complaint: 20849869

I am rejecting this response because:

They are recruited by business corporations to frighten and scare people into thinking that this is a criminal investigation, in order for them to get a payment, it's a work around for a debt collection company ever since the new laws have been passed by ***** and the fair debt collection practices act.

I own a credit repair company and am very familiar with these type of practices.

Furthermore they are lying about the bankruptcy and do not investigate properly, as there was 1 in **** and 1 in 2016 and they do not recognize the 1 in 2016.

Furthermore according to the fair debt collection practices act if you request them not to call you again and to only contact you in writing that they are obligated legally by federal law to do so however they have not.

They still have not addressed the fact that they have contacted people that were considered friends not family and were requesting information that was personal as well as private which is the violation of identity theft.

If a person does not give permission to investigate them with their social security number and other private information it is concerned identity theft. As I did not give them permission to use my social security number or permission from any corporations to give my social security number and information to a private company.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

Again, District Processing Office is not a collection agency. We are not contracted by any collection agencies. The firm we represent follows the law as established by ************************ in 2008 via the Patriots Act concerning returned financial instruments. As such, the business and its governance does not fall under F.D.C.P.A. guidelines.

None of the points made require an answer as neither we, nor are client are governed by F.D.C.P.A. laws.

**** is the contact person. He has contact people all over ********** looking for an ex relative. When I called to ask why he has my number, He is asking the whereabouts of the relative. trying to get information about the relative. I told him to not call my number and he did it anyway. he has been harrassing people and the relative family. When he was told that an attorney was going to be contacted, he did want that to happen.

      Business response

After reviewing this compliant I have looked over all information in our database. I show no one by the name of ********************* with any affiliations to our company. We also performed and search on the phone number listed on the complaint and nothing came back. If anyone from our company is told not to contact them we will list them on a do not call list and they will never be contacted again. I have spoke to *********************** who's is currently employed and verified with him as well that he has never spoke to a person by the name of *********************. Please let us know if any further action is needed.

      Thanks
