I was engaged and 35 days before the wedding it was cancelled and I informed them right away. They refused to issue any refund so we said fine, well take the cake anyway and we had it delivered to our house.As a matter of contract, they broke faith. The sizes of the cakes were wrong! The anniversary cake was missing! (After the fact they tried to change what the contract said the anniversary cake would be like) The workmanship was horrible and embarrassing! (A new employee made my cake and sent it out with a collapsed layer hidden with extra frosting) They refused to deliver the replacement for the anniversary cake, even though delivery was specified in the contract. To make me whole, I asked for $200 for missing cake (6-5, ****), missing anniversary cake (same flavors as bottom tier), and horrible workmanship. ( I have photos)My mother has been a serve-Safe manager, and knows food that has been served will not be returned to provider. At first they insisted on returning the cake, for a pitiful refund of $75. Their new employee knew this was cake imperfections yet sent out anyway. I am glad this wasnt served to our wedding guests. They should be ashamed. In later negotiations they tried to pressure me into signing a contract I was not comfortable with in order to get an agreed upon refund of $200 for the change of cake that was delivered and the poor workmanship. I wouldnt sign it because it included an NDA. I work in law and am willing to fight this. This business doesnt deserve awards from The Knot if they treat brides and people who had to cancel weddings with no sensitivity or kindness and provide IM-perfection in their confection. Im not giving up my first amendment right to tell people about this poor experience and get my compensation. A violation of contract is a serious legal matter they dont seem to recognize and they have not been sensitive to my issue in any way.
