In May 2021, I met with the salesman and reviewed what repairs/additions I wanted. I signed the contract in July 2021 and was given a start date mid August. On August 2, 2021, I gave them the deposit. When no work had started mid August, I reached out and was told there would be a delay due to rain (which was true). At the end of August I was told that they were not able to locate the shingles I selected so I chose another option. About a week later I was told they found the shingles and given a start date in mid September. When no work had started mid September and when Ken did return one of my numerous calls and texts, he said they would start tear off in a couple of days. Ken then stopped replying in October. Workers started tear off early November as I gave Ken a second check on November 9. Work was completed November 18, again without any updates as to why it was taking over 2 weeks to complete a 1800sq ft roof. When the roof inspector finally received the report in December, he and I noticed the hurricane strapping had not been done as requested and paid for ($3100), only the 3rd nail was done. I am requesting a refund of $3100 for hurricane strapping work not completed as requested on the contract. Metro Roofing also has not released the lien placed on my house, even though they were paid in full on November 18, 2021.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract on 8/4/2021 with Metro Roofing for a full roof replacement. They required a $4,400 down payment to cover the cost of material. They cashed the check the next day. Since this time they promised a date to do the work and only text message they can't make it. Continued calls to Ken are not returned. He seems to only text. His phone is different than the number you have noted on your sight. The phone on the contract is XXX-XXX-XXXX. When you phone this number or the one on your sight they never state MetroRoofing it just goes to voicemail and calls are not returned. Based on the text messages from Ken his number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. Again he doesn't call back and seems to text when he feel like it without following through. I feel this was a scam as the address is an aol address and not a .com website. We hired Metro Roofing to repair our roof and gave them a $700 down payment. But soon after we decided to replace the whole roof instead and hired Metro Roofing to do the work. Over the next 5 months they kept delaying the project with excuse after excuse and never did anything. Both parties agreed to go our separate ways. It has now been over a month and I've been asking for our $700 refund check. Ken, the person I'm working with at Metro Roofing has been ignoring my phone calls and text messages. Every once in a while he sends me a text stating he is investigating and will let me know when check will be sent. This has been very frustrating and unprofessional.Business response
