Date of transaction - 7-13-23 amount of money $200 business committed to provide us a review of application for securing a single-family rental property in ************* *******.The nature of the dispute is the following: We applied to rent a house that was available from this company. The company confirmed we were the first in line. We stressed the importance of securing the property knowing that we were the First in line and would certainly qualify, given background checks, financial capabilities and anything necessary that the management company would require.We were given a notification of email that we certainly qualified, however, Sandcastle realty *** had given the property to another applicant without any reason to why they did not give it to us. They even offered a different property. We specifically applied for the given property in the application. We requested our money back for the application. Sandcastle would not reply via email and or messages left and even after we spoke with front desk and asked the realtor who we worked with to call us back as we explained the situation to the secretary. It is in our opinion and realtors in the ************* area that, Sandcastle builds up applicant fees as much as possible, regardless if Applicants qualify or not. This is unethical practice for a licensed realtor. Typically, in rental companies in the area, take one application at a time to process an applicant qualification and put a house on hold during the review and only if an applicant does not qualify, they open the property for further applications submissions and move to a different applicant. We also intend to file a complaint with the **** and DBPR of *******.
