I originally went into contract in February of 2021 with ****************. They had numerous delays and wouldn't start my project until July of 2022. in June i decided to cancel the contract as i could not wait any longer. I had to give a deposit of ****** . in February. When i tried to cancel the contract Holeman is saying I owe them for time spent and only want o send back $$8,447.43. This is a total fraud and They never gave me any reason they were charging me over ******* for time spent. They said i was in breach of contract but nowhere in the contract does it say i cannot cancel or indicate any penalties for doing do.

******* * ******* is the least professional person I have ever worked with. Luckily most people don't have to contact him unless you have issues. Holeman, Inc had ordered two windows incorrectly, which is an honest mistake. When **** ******* called me and asked me to pay the remainder of the contract I told him I did not trust he would return to finish the work if he was paid in full before the contract was completed. He then told me "I cannot believe your parents raised you that way". This was rich coming from a guy who ask the building inspector to come out for a final inspection while we had two missing windows. The county did not take that lightly. As of today 7/1/2021 he has filed a lien against my property and had his attorney Bruce Loren demand that I pay the final draw of our contract. Holeman, Inc failed their last inspection and got red tagged. I am missing two windows and siding still needs to be installed. I personally would never recommend Holeman, Inc to anyone.

Mr. ********** here is my response to your review. I will also try to put the job in perspective for anyone reading this in the future. Mr. ********** hired ******* Inc to install new siding & impact windows & doors on his 3 story oceanfront home. This home had over 4000 sq. ft. of siding and 60 plus windows and doors for a cost of $200,000 plus.

-We did make a mistake on 2 windows out of the 60 plus. We reordered the windows which will be in on 08-30-2021
-We completed the job except for the 2 windows in question and 8 pieces of trim around those 2 windows
-We approached Mr. ********** with the billing and DID NOT BILL for 2 windows and 8 pieces of trim
-Job was complete on 4-27-2021 ( except for 2 windows and 8 pieces of trim )
-Mr. ********** refused to pay any portion of the bill and said he didn't think we would come back (after being on the job 60 plus days)
-All windows were approved by building dept. except for 2 missing windows, this is the reason for failing.

In Florida, once off a job for more than 90 days ******* Inc would lose its rights if Mr. ********** decided not to pay for any reason, so of course we had to protect ourselves. Holding over $50,000.00 for this little amount of work is to much and way out of balance.

We will continue to work with Mr. ********** when the 2 windows come in to complete the job and finish the trim and I hope we can move pass *** of this, there really is no need for it.

The job was not complete on 4-27-2021 whatsoever. The foreman dropped off material to my home to finish the installation of the sliding glass doors on 6-03-2021, you were no where near the 90 day deadline. In classic Holeman fashion, the foreman didn't even install the product, I installed the materials he left at my door. The foreman didn't even ring the doorbell. Holeman, Inc tried to call in three "FINAL INSPECTIONS", before 4-27-2021, hoping they would get the permit closed out if the inspector didn't catch the missing windows on the third story. I have to assume they would have better success with collecting the final payment if the permit was closed. Holeman, Inc is incapable of operating a honest business. Specifically, ******* ******* will try and bully you and cheat his way to through the project. When you bring up issues he does not take ownership of the issues and tries to deflect responsibility. He purchased all of my 300lb custom sliding glass doors with flush handles so that 80% of my family members cannot open the doors. His response: "It is the default package". PGT clarified that there is no default package and everything is 100% custom. I had to beat them up numerous times to replace the handles. Ultimately, I was responsible for physically replacing the handles they incorrectly ordered. I had to advocate for myself and call PGT directly in order to get resolutions to our issues. When it was discovered that they had ordered two windows that were measured incorrectly, they sent me a change order to pay for two new windows. I refused to pay for this change order since I had already paid for the two windows. This was when I realized they could not be trusted. Moreover, the change order to purchase two new windows exceeded the credit ******* ******* offered me if I would pay the contract early. They installed scaffolding on my 3 story home to install hardie plank and hardie soffits. I was under the impression the soffits were colorplus since the hardie plank we were installing was colorplus. I feel like they ordered the wrong soffit material since primed soffits were delivered and bright yellow. When I asked about the soffits they told me the "colorplus" soffit is not recommended by ***** ****** and that I would need to paint them myself. Keep in mind these soffits are 2 feet wide and located 3 stories in the air. What painter is going to rent scaffolding to paint such a small area? So, they decided to send me a $7000 change order to subcontract a painter to paint them while they had their scaffolding up. I contacted ***** ****** and they said there were unaware of any issues with the colorplus soffits. Even better than that folly was when they decided to remove all of my aluminum fascia wrap from my untreated lumber fascia. The guys involved with installing the soffits said it would be a lot easier to install if they could just remove the fascia wrap. Their foreman told me they would replace the fascia wrap and get a price on the cost over to me in a change order as soon as possible, as of today, I have not received any pricing and my untreated lumber fascia is still exposed. As far as I am concerned my fascia is currently in a worse condition than when Holeman arrived. On 7-01-2021, Holeman, Inc hired an attorney to send a demand letter via certified mail to collect the balance of the contract plus attorney's fees before the project was complete. After threatening to file a complaint against Holeman, Inc for sending for the demand letter, they said the demand letter was sent in error. Beware of Holeman, Inc. the leadership of this company is morally bankrupt.

    Mr. ***********

As stated above when your 2 windows come in from PGT in Mid August we will install immediately along with the 8 pieces of trim. For this your holding $51,701.25.

    Customer Response

    07/27/2021

Where's my fascia wrap *******? You left my untreated lumber fascia exposed to the salt air for 5 months and counting. I have damage to my fascia that is not only measurable and documented but also 100% your fault. You called in a final inspection 3 times while I had missing windows. Your actions speak loud and clear about who you are and I am confident if I paid you in full you would never come back to install those windows. Please try to comprehend that I am not holding the money, I am following the terms of the contract you presented to me. The final payment is due upon completion.
