I signed up the the $49 brokers test prep, and I didn't like it. I asked to switch to the instructor led course, which they agreed to credit the $49 towards the instructor led class. The website for the course I am taking says the price is $149 but they are charging me $199 and wouldn't honor the price advertised on the website. With my credit of $49 the total should have been $100 but they refused to honor the $149 price that was posted online.Customer response

They falsely advertise a broker state exam review that's 3 days but then provide you with a 1 day broker exam prep and then add you to their sales associate exam review for 2 days. The first day was to prepare for the brokers state exam, but the 2nd & 3rd day were clearly geared towards preparing students for the sales associates state exam. They don't mention this until one before the class, and after they already have your money. They emailed me a class confirmation Thursday, one day before class started and it has a small note that says "The 2nd and 3rd days are the salesperson review and are optional." Then the 2nd & 3rd days (Saturday & Sunday) we were added to a completely different class, the Sales Associate exam review. The class went from 11 students studying to be brokers to 28 students with most studying to get their license for the first time! I feel like this is misleading and unethical. I paid for a broker exam prep, not to be passed off to a sales associate class after the first day, to save the school time and money. I would not have purchased this if I had been aware they only provide the one day of broker test prep then put you in a class full of people studying for the Sales associate exam. These are people who do not hold a real estate license yet. The tests are different for brokers- who would have had a license for at least 24 months. The whole class dynamic and focus is different, including the types of questions asked by the students and the time the instructor has to spend answering those. I received a real estate book from Bob Hogue to renew my real estate license. I completed the test and mailed it back with $21.95. I never received my results, certificate. I have repeatedly tried to call with no response. Then I was informed Kaplan school had taken over. They cashed my check but I can't get an answer. My license expires Sept 30. Please help.Business response

Consumer Response /* (2000, 5, 2022/08/24) */ The business has contacted me and apparently the phone was down all week. He apologized and gave me the info I needed. I passed the test and my license will be renewed. So it has been resolved. Thank you for your help and support. ********
