This is simply a misunderstanding.  Petri charges a flat monthly fee of $30 for services rendered approximately every 60 days or 6 times pers year.  The charge to the credit card is typically on the 15th of each month.  The customer is correct that we were not able to charge her credit card for services In January.   Petri provided 3 services total: in January (1/16), in March (3/18) and in May (5/27) for the customer and continued to charge her account monthly.

There was no service rendered on June 15 as the customer said.  This is simply the date that the customer was charged the $30 monthly fee for the service as we had done every month.  Since Petri did not have a working credit card since January the $30 was charged to the account and was then added to the balance.  Petri did attempt numerous times throughout the year to call and email the customer to get an updated credit card.

When we finally spoke to the customer a few days ago we agreed to credit off the monthly charges in June and July ($60 total) since we had not rendered our regular service in July due to the large balance on the account.   This would leave a $120 remaining balance on the account instead of a $180 balance.  We have not yet received check #**** for $60 but we will be glad to apply that to the remaining balance. We look forward to resolving this matter which we believe is just a misunderstanding.  Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I never see "Petri Pest Control" came to my house in January(1/16),  in May March (3/18) and in May (5/27). I did send the check to Petri, this is my postal receipt, I will check with my bank about the check. Please ask "Petri Pest Control" to review everything, I do not owe "Petri Pest Control" $180.00.

      Sincerely,

Petri agrees that customer does not owe $180.  This is because we have credited your account earlier this week for the months of June and July.  So we are showing $120 owed.  This does not include any payment you may have sent that was not received yet.  Petri's service is an exterior, perimeter service with inside upon request or as needed.  Is it possible we came to the house and the customer was not at home on those dates that we serviced the home?

Please let us know if you are able to track down your payment that you sent.  Again, we have not received any payment for any service yet in 2023 and we have credited the customer account.  All we ask is for payment for services we did complete in 2023.

In my initial complaint, I expressed my concerns regarding this companys claim that I owe them money.

On July 15, 2023 a representative called me stating I owed One Hundred and Eighty Dollars ($180.00) and the card on file is not authorizing payments.

As per my conversation I informed them I would mail a check to pay my outstanding balance of $60.00 for the months of January and May.  I mailed the check on August 11, 2023 certified ************* ************** Tracking # **********************. Its still on route.

Had I been made aware of this flat fee prior to accepting their service, I would not have agreed to proceed with their service. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

As stated prior Petri credited the account from $180 to $120 owed.  We have not received any payment from customer this year.  We have not received the payment for $60 that was sent in August.   If and when we do receive the payment the remaining balance will be $60.  In the interest of settling this matter we would credit the account another $60 (this would then total a $120 credited by Petri).  Again, Petri has received no payment this year despite rendering service on 3 occasions.

Thank you for your response. Could you help clarify whether the account is currently balance-free $0? Additionally, the check for $60 payment, check #**** for August, was returned to me and I sent it again to Petri on 8/6/2023.

      Business response

When payment for the $60 is finally received the account will have a $0 balance since Petri has credited the account $120.  If payment was snet on 8-6-23 it would have been received long ago.  Be sure payment is being mailed to the correct address, which is our office address in *******.

My only question would be how could the customer possibly not be satisfied with our response?? We said we would credit the account another $60 so that would be a total of $120 we have credited.  The customer states they already sent us the other $60 so that means they will have a $0 balance once we receive that payment.  What more could they want??

As I have stated previously Petri has NOT received any payment or check from the customer.  There is a $60 balance still until we receive payment.  Petri has done our part and has credited the account $120.  We would appreciate prompt payment of the remaining $60 balance.   Please either call in a credit card payment or send payment to our office at *****************************************************************. Thank you

On August 19, 2022 a Petri employee named **** was parked near my house, texting on her phone as she frequently does. I was waiting to cross the street with my dog. I waited about a minute for her to drive forward, but she didn't move, and since her windows have such a dark tint, I couldn't see her face. After waiting a long time without her driving, I assumed she was waiting for us to cross. We started crossing the street, when she drove forward and ran over my dog. I screamed, and she stopped. She never even got out of the car to check in us. She just rolled down her window and talked to me through the open window. She said she didn't see us there! Because she was looking at her phone, not the road!!!I immediately took my dog to a vet to check for internal bleeding and broken bones. I had to cancel all guiding for the week and a dive trip because my dog was a mess and I was in so much pain for weeks.**** is LYING and claiming she never hit us because I didn't call the police.Petri refuses to take any responsibility for their lying, reckless driver. This is an unethical dangerous company. Many of my neighbors have told me they have seen her driving and texting and driving recklessly too. Apparently, Petri condones this behavior.https://youtube.com/shorts/cjPDITmzvjU?feature=share

This person filing this complaint is not a customer and their complaint is without any merit whatsoever.  Because this matter was turned over to our insurance company in an effort to settle this matter I will not discuss the details of the matter further except to say that ****, who works for Petri Pest Control Services, strongly denies this incident took place in any way remotely like what was described.  She states that this is patently false.  And it should be said that if further statements, videos, or posts were to continue to be made on social media or other platforms Petri will seek legal counsel about seeking damages for defamation, libel, slander, etc. as this is what we believe is now taking place.

I paid $1995 for termite tenting services, which were provided. However, the company damaged my property, damaged my plants (that were more than 4 feet from the house), and left trash scattered around my property (including ***** empty water bottles, 6 of which were pulled from the pool by my pool maintenance service professional). When I mentioned these issues to the company, they made excuses such as, the post was already weak and that the equipment was heavy so the plants got trampled. The customer service provided by ******************************* was very bad and he was evasive and unapologetic each time I mentioned an issue. I would like a billing adjustment to account for the damage to the post at the entry way and the damage to plants that were more than 4 feet from the house. The plants can be replaced for $30, and I believe the post at the entry can be fixed for $75 (this accounts for 1 hour of work for the two issues combined plus materials).

I have researched this matter and have spoken to both my manager, *****, and our representative, *********************************.  Both ***** and ******* were only aware of a storage unit against the house that needed to be locked by law.  The customer wanted us to pay for a locksmith to open it but we were required to have it locked.  We were not aware of damaged plants or a damaged pole.  With tent fumigation the customer does sign off on a release form that they understand there can be incidental damage that *** occur during the process and that Petri is not responsible for such minor damages.  Our fumigators are as careful as possible but when doing this type of work (including carrying heavy tarps and sealing the tarps to the ground in the landscape areas) it is very difficult to guarantee that some plants *** not be trampled a bit.  The pole or wood pier appears to have wood rot or wood decay fungi from becoming wet over time.  This is not something caused by our fumigator.

Petri will credit the account $75 because some water containers were left behind on the property and to help offset some costs for the customer.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.  Their response is generally incorrect. I did not ask for any payments other than with respect to actual damages to my home and the surrounding area.  The complaint makes no mention of a storage shed. I made ********************************* aware of these damages in a timely manner, and he offered no response.  It is a lie to say he was unaware of the damages, as he was fully aware.

Furthermore, I am fully aware that incidental damages were possible, but there has to be some limit.  This was damage to wood structures and plants that were far from the dwelling structure.  These damages should not have been expected.

However, I accept the resolution, whereby the company has offered a credit of $75. Otherwise, this business response is scattered with lies and inconsistency, and this business has proven to be untrustworthy.

On May 17, 2021, ***** Pest Control came to my house to resolve my termite problem by method of no tent termite treatment. I have pets (bird, fish, dogs) and house plants which prevents me from a tent option. I had a no-tent termite treatment years ago and was very satisfied with the results. Unfortunately, that person retired so I thought I would give ***** the opportunity to help me. First red flag for me was, in the past when the other company would go in the attic to spray, he wore what looked like a gas mask. When ***** from ***** sprayed, he wore a regular covid/surgical mask. The following week I called ***** back because the termites were still present. ***** came out again with the same process. At this point, living at the same residence for over 25 years, I realized *****'s chemical solution was not strong enough to kill termites (possibly watered down), and I asked for a refund. Every time, which was in a 10day time span, I inquire about a refund

      Business response

      07/28/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2021/07/20) */ *****'s inspector did go out and after evaluating the problem tent fumigation was recommended. However, the customer declined that service (this is recorded on our service agreement which I have included). The no tent treatment can be effective if the problem is isolated to a small area or 1 or 2 areas. When drywood termites are in multiple locations and areas the no tent treatment cannot reach then tent fumigation may be required or multiple treatments throughout the year may be required. Requesting a refund only 10 days later is not fair to ***** as the treatment can take several weeks or even months to fully take effect. *****'s agreement also states that "multiple treatments, at no additional charge, may be necessary to control termites as additional termite colonies may remain undetected...." ***** tries to always be forthcoming about the limitations of the no tent treatment. In this case, tent fumigation was recommended several times to the customer but it was declined. ***** cannot take back the treatment we have rendered as we have already paid for the materials and labor. ***** would be willing to offer a $125 credit toward the cost of a tent fumigation should the customer decide to have us fumigate the home. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2021/07/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ***** advertises no-tent termite treatment, and does not specify isolated to small area's. I advised the salesperson ***** on day one, prior to treatment, I could not tent because of pets, plants and no where to go during covid. I do not recall any agreement nor signing an agreement. My initial treatment was 5/17, its now 7/20/21 and I still wipe termites off my kitchen counter just like two months ago. How much more time do I need to give it? After Randy came slamming my kitchen cabinets saying there is nothing they can do, would I consider ***** for any future services? The answer is no and that statement regarding a discount on tent services is ridiculous. I am not the only homeowner in my neighborhood and word of mouth goes a long way. I am asking for a refund so I can locate a company that will get the job done! Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2021/07/22) */ ***** does advertise no tent treatments but we DO in fact specify that it is for "qualifying homes" (please see attached photo of our vehicle where it is advertised on both the front and back). The customer did sign our agreement which explains the no tent spot treatment process and says clearly that multiple treatments may be needed. Many ***** customers that have pets, plants, etc. have still gone through the tenting process. And, we agree, that it is a very inconvenient process but the fact is that it remains the best option to eliminate drywood termites when you have multiple colonies that cannot be completely eliminated with the no tent treatment. As per our agreement ***** offers customers a credit of 50% of the cost of the no tent treatment will be discounted off the cost of a tent fumigation should they decide to get tent fumigation. There is an exclusion to this when ***** recommends fumigation and the customer declines (as in this case). However, ***** will still offer this to Ms. ****** and that means a $212.50 credit will be applied to the cost of a fumigation should she have ***** fumigate the home. Hiring another company to try to do a no tent treatment would be a mistake and a waste of money in my opinion based on the level of infestation we have found. Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2021/07/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) First of all, what I do with my money is not *****'s business. As I stated earlier, if read, I had a company who provided excellent no-tent treatment which lasted 5 years. The tech that did the work retired so they no longer offer the service. Please stop increasing your tenting service discount. I am not interested in having ANYONE, especially after the drama at my home last week, come to my house ever again from *****. This going back and forth is so juvenile. Either you are going to refund me or not...
