1 starThey would not even cover a simple posterior filling for my child which ended up costing us a bunch out of pocket! When 8 called to file an appeal she said "we don't have an actual appeal division". On top of that there are deductibles for every visit. It's a scam! Don't use this company, absolutely horrible!Solstice Marketplace

We apologize that you were not happy with your dental benefits. There may be some confusion with what your Michigan Smile Now policy covers. We reviewed the call records from your conversations with our *************** area to make sure we understood your situation.
Posterior fillings are not a covered benefit with your chosen plan. This was communicated by our member service agents during your call and was also confirmed to the provider during a call on June 17, 2025. It seems you requested to speak with the ****************** and the representative informed you of your right to an appeal because billing would not have been beneficial to your process so they filed an appeal on your behalf.
We are sorry that your chosen policy did not suit your needs and you did not agree with the lack of coverage in your plan.

1 starHorrible user interphase for payments and billing. Canceled my plan over $7 instead of calling me. I got a new debt card and there was no way in their system to update my card. ******** customer service that takes hours to get a hold of.Solstice Marketplace

1 starthis company is horrible. i had an abscessed tooth so i went to a dentist that was listed as a provider near me. $750 later and i find out that they do not accept my insurance. They listed 42 providers within 10 miles of me. Turns out most of them belong to 2 major dental places. I couldn't reach one of the providers, but the rest DID NOT take their insurance. I called solstice. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for them to answer phone. They said they are not responsible if the provider directory is inaccurate. They also said that a provider didn't need to be near me to count as a provider. They said i may not want to drive for an hour, but they still had a dentist for me to see.DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!Solstice Marketplace

1 starSolstice dental insurance is completely unethical!! They are denying all 3rd molar extractions unless there is pathology, meaning there has to be active infection. It doesnt matter to them that the orthodontist wants them out immediately because of active intrusion on the 2nd molars. The 3rd molars are literally aimed sideways and putting pressure on the roots of the 2nd molars. The first problem is going to be supra-erupting the 2nd molars and messing up my childs bite (you cannot push the teeth back down!!!). Then the roots of the 2nd molars will resorb. THEN, possibly, after both those awful situations have happened, there will be infections. We got a CBCT 3-D scan to confirm the orthodontist and oral surgeon recommendations, and it is confirmed!!*Solstice has already been contacted twice (by spouse and HR) and continues their denial. I have two older sons who, in the exact same situation, had their 3rd molar extractions paid by MetLife with no problems. I have X-ray proof that there was not pathology for their 3rd molar extractions, and MetLife correctly paid the claim with no problems. 1 starThey do not pay. No dental office will even contact them and know immediately that Solstice doesn't pay. It is the first time I've ever used Marketplace.gov and I was in a rush and the rep. told me "just choose the first one". I am not feeling well due to another condition and cannot get a PCP at the moment due to moving after 15 years. Now I am screwed over and the dentist I went to won't do the emergency procedure that they are supposed to cover. The office won't contact them to get a "predetermination request" nor a "prior authorization" that is required for the procedure. I went through a dental insurance agent and purchase a new plan for 41.36/month and now that plan is likely to deny coverage due to brand new "pre-existing condition" due to Solstice not paying/working at any dental office. I am now at a new dentist's office trying to get the procedure since the first dentist office went silent. It seems illegal to me for Solstice not to pay on any claims. It is not a 1 star company. It is negative to infinity and beyond. I take responsibility for not doing research prior to choosing them, but one health problem causes chronic pain and lack of energy even with food intake.Solstice Marketplace

1 starI work at a dental provider office, trying to reach someone regarding a claim. Was on hold for ONE HOUR with NO RESPONSE. Finally had to hang up. Terrible customer service. No wonder dentists don't take it. So if you are a member, do not get this plan! Zero stars.Solstice Marketplace

1 starthis insurance company is weird .there is no document (either paper or on line ) for me to read before i make a decision about what kind of service i want to do and how many percentage the insurance covered. they do not have the document for you .so ,you have to talk to dentist first,each time each services) then dentist send each time estimate to insurance ,then insurance send me tell me ,how much they cover how much i have to pay .so ,now if i decide not to do ,all the work everybody did ,will be a wasting time .why this insurance company do not do other company"s way , show me what kinds of services they cover and how many persentage they cover?i want to see a list! ,list !list !,with the "code"s! codes! codes!. (different services ) and with the persentage covered .all i have is ,a couple words on one page ,said ,Xray and regular cleaning is covered 100% ,everybody knows that .fillings etc 90%,a couple things 60%. there should be a lot of kinds service with code to show me .they do not want to . why ? the provide can see everything when they go on line ,i can not see what they see .why ?it is a weired company .Solstice Marketplace
